No experience for creative ways of killing enemies [Spoiler]

Post by schwa »

I am playing on Hard + Oldschool

So far I have discovered two ways to kill enemies w/o weapons.
1) Teleport into them
2) Lure them to a pit and open it

However, doing so means I don't get the experience from enemies. Thus, I won't level up and be able to defeat the tougher enemies.

In a sense, I am being punished for discovering unique and creative ways to use the dungeon against my enemies. I am disappointed that I don't get experience from defeating them.

I feel this would be an easy fix, and would very much appreciate it.

Pits do not kill enemies, but jumping into a pit after an enemy does

Gotcha. This makes sense... so I imagine I'll bump into those guys later!

I'm working through this game pretty slowly, hard is HARD. However, it is forcing me to be creative, and I am loving the hell out of it. There is an ambush in lvl2 that kept killing me until I thought about it and changed my tactic. Super awesome.

Pits will simply drop to monster to a harder locale.

Are you saying if you teleport on a monster it instantly dies?

If you mean you can go back and forth on a teleport to fight, then you can also do this with doors and grills. Simply close them to protect yourself then open for short time to hit.

I dropped a snail down a pit in level one and didn't think I could follow it and live. How do you get back out of the pit? Does it come out somewhere on the level below? (I reloaded after dropping snail I. Pit to get my knife and throwing star back)

The pits lead to a little area with a teleporter for the most part. They generally teleport you close to where the pit was.

Yes, you can tele-frag dudes.

I like that there are creative ways to deal with the monsters. I'm not saying it is bad, I'd just like to get experience for it.

I got this one a bit earlier.
Messed up on a trap door puzzle and landed on some poor skellie archers head, haha!
