Granted you already solved it, but think like this.
There are only two places I can move the block, unless I can come from the other side of this wall.
The block is in the way, so there MUST be a way to get over there some other way.
It would have to be through a teleporter or secret passage. Secret passages are more frequent, and easier to check for.
You know the wall the secret passage would have to be at, and buttons are usually near the passages.
Granted, all this assumes good puzzle design. (and by good, I mean people are supposed to be able to solve it after maybe a little frustration)
