So awesome.

Post by King Semos »

I've just been in the character creation menu, feeling like a kid on Christmas with all these really cool options. I mean, I had clocked in about 100 or so hours of Grimrock-1 fiddling with different builds and different party compositions.

So far just seeing how much more diverse it is, and the really cool difficulty settings you can apply. I'm psyched. Quite possibly best game of 2014 for me. I'll let you know once I've actually played through. It's probably gona be like 30 minutes before I settle on a party. lol.

Haven't tried it yet (being downloaded at the moment), but remembering first part of Grimrock... just brings excitement out of nowhere. Thanks, guys, for this feeling alone! No idea what happens with me when I'll try game itself :) I know it is going to be good and I wont have time for this forum ;) I am off to journey!

Agreed. I am very, very pleased with the game thus far. (Granted still in the first area but so beautiful!) And the night to day thing? Amazing. Really gives it a sense of realism. Absolutely loving this!

Started playing on hard/hardcore/iron and reached the first crystal.
Runs very well on my 8 years old PC and no bugs or crashes till now. Looks and plays fantastic.
Thank you very much for this AH. Two tumps up.
Ok, back to dungeon crawling ...

Warning: the game is really hard with these options. I mean, really hard. I would not recommend it for first playthrough, but if you know what you're doing…

This game is an amazing piece of art 43 yo pen and paper gamemaster, been playing RPGs since, well, "pong" (I was maybe 8 or 9 yo by the time. Love LoG2, the modding part is gonna be awesome. I can't wait for the assets ^^

The monsters jump backwards. I blame my subsequent death to them on shock from this fantastic new innovation in AI and pathfinding. Certainly not the drinking. This game's going to be so much fun. :D

I just love this game. I get so many lovely Dungeon Master vibes from this game with the new outdoors areas and different enemy behaviors and new puzzle mechanics and all that. Even some puzzles feel very inspired by those older original games but has a new flare to them. Plus the game is a lot harder now which I really like.

Much love for this game! (hope you guys inspire more game developers to make games like these, and do them well. The bar have been set high.)

I think the game is extremely hard on "Hard" alone... and I played LoG1 on hard asleep. In LoG2 the monsters are handing my butt to me on a silver plate, they're extremely quick and swift. Feels a bit like playing Dark Souls NG+ without equip :D
But any challenge is welcome... nevertheless I'll probably start over with a full mage party so I can at least win by high burst and ongoing fire damage which is great. My rogues seemed to be pretty weak at least now at the beginning.

Grimrock I played through on hard/hardcore, without map drawing and also with only saving on crystals. It was not THAT hard.
With Iron Mode in Grimrock 2 this get's a little more 'interesting' (actually even more 'interesting' then Wizardry IV with the pentagrams).
But I of course, I don't think I will get through the game this way the first time. I just want to try, how far I can get with it.
Most thrill and excitement possible only on first play-through in this kind of games. That's why I take the Max Iron-Mode first as long as I can, because this exact experience is only possible once.
So, yes I think I 'know' what I'm doing. :)
