Custom Portraits LoG2 not working? (solved)

I can't seem to get custom portraits to show up in Grimrock 2

Have the file format changed or is the feature disabled atm?

I've tried using 128x128 .tga in 16, 24 and 32 bit placed in the 'Users\[username]\Documents\Almost Human\Legend of Grimrock 2\Portraits' folder

the portraits works fine in Legend of Grimrock 1.

The default background image from LoG 1 does not show up in LoG2 either.


** EDIT ** SOLVED

Ok I found out how to make it work, the file names needs to have the correct naming convention, [race]_[gender]_[01.. etc].tga

ex. human_female_01.tga

there is a subfolder in the LoG2 install directory with the portraits from LoG1, using their naming convention makes custom portraits show up in LoG2

You need to ensure that your files and their names meet the specifications...

Specifically...

and also.. if you browse your steam folder
Steam\steamapps\common\Legend of Grimrock 2\extras\grimrock1_portraits
You have all the LoG1 portraits with the correct naming for LoG2

Assuming you're on Windows... Metamorphose2: http://sourceforge.net/projects/file-fo ... phose%202/

I use it all the time for renaming images and videos.

1. Install it.
2. Right click on a Folder - select "Rename with Metamorphose 2"
3. Click on the "Renamer" tab
4. Double click on "Replace" in the "Availble" list on the left.
5. In the "Replace With" box type "portrait_:numb:_male.tga" say.

Cool little app if you need to rename big batches of files!

Simple ,,,just highlight the whole list of file names, than type the file name suffix in first file and all will change to that file ending suffix. Does not matter if you use Male.tga or Female.tga for all files since the change will create unique numbered file name instances then just pick the portrait you want in game.

just wondering where you found your portrait files?
I have done a quick search but only come up with Baulders gate portraits...
I am going to need a bunch of unique portraits for my planned custom race/classes...

If you look through that thread, a few people, including me, have posted links to Portraits for LoG2, tho mine are just 680+ Portraits I found/used for LoG1 long ago and converted over to LoG2 when LoG2 came out
