I don't have anything against cats or other animals, but I just hate furries. :D
Why you hate me? :(

Either way, catfolk seem an inevitability.

The basic definition of a "furry" is an anthropomorphic animal. The only player race of the established set that doesn't qualify is the human.

I think you're missing the fact that he said "Furries."

Here's what he's probably talking about:

Define ... 'Lost.' Neverending Nights - The Neverwinter Machinima that WILL make you laugh!

Hardly different than Star Trek or anime fans, except longer and more diverse history and viewpoints.
As with every group, individuals in it can be cool or suck.

I think the real concern with races in games shouldn't be so much what they are, but how they play differently.
If they don't add something interesting, then its just a portrait.

This request seems racist against the mouse folk that will be in Grimrock 2.

They'd probably be buddies anyways. XP

Typically in my experience of fiction, insect races are hive-minded, and based on a specialized caste system. (Aliens, Starcraft: Zerg, Warhammer40k: Tyranids, Starship Troopers: Arachnids...)
That's something I love about the insectoid race in Grimrock. Mages with the potential to have natural armor?

I really look forward to seeing what they did with the racial skill trees.

How awesome would it be to have a cat-folk, but during combat there was a 10% chance that the cat-folk would attack any Ratlings in the party!

Well, if someone's trying to implement a wizardryesque version, they wouldn't have an inherent problem with ratkin. Their racial special might be a problem if ranged attacks are still collision-detection hits with no 'attack roll': the felpur had a built-in missile evasion chance (or at least a higher missile evasion chance than anyone else with the same stats), even against magical projectiles.

*raises an index finger* ........ o.o

*points to the Ratlings*

And I doubt the ratlings will be enemies with catfolk. They just might not be seeing eye to eye. Like the steam community with Russians for some reason.
