Grinded my way to act 3, but it's getting harder and harder to force myself to play. Maybe I should just give up.
Out of curiosity, which difficulty level are you playing on?

I played it all the way though on the highest difficulty setting.

The bad:
- The game is very unpolished. I'd say it's in, maybe, a mid beta state: random crashes, unoptimized graphics, some buggy quests. I was shaking my head in disbelief at times with regards to the video issues.
- There were times where I had to search around for content that my group could handle.

The good:
- Great character development.
- Great combat system.
- A HUGE and varied world: out door areas, light houses, caves, forts, dungeons (of various types), boss encounters, multiple cities.
- Interesting puzzles; a couple of which forced my hand to the google search engine.

Even with the few crashes I experienced and the absolutely HORRIBLE video optimization in outdoor regions I still enjoyed the hell out of the game. I don't regret buying it at all.

I generally play games on their hardest setting even on the first play through. LoG I found relatively easy. MMX I also found to be relatively easy to beat on max difficulty. Granted the only games in this genre that I ever found challenging on the highest settings were BGII and Icewind Dale and that was only because of the way magic scaling takes place when applying a higher difficulty to the game.
