Re: MASTER QUEST HELP: puzzles, clues, SECRETS, WALKTHROUGH
Awesome Mod. I'm really enjoying going slow and finding everything. I love the different strategies to use by going above the level limit of 13. Fantastic job!
I think I have encountered a bug though. I'm stuck on lvl 9, at the Outer Sanctum. Upon entering the room and clearing it of the fire elementals and one ice lizard, I went through each portal to get the three relics. After getting them, the portals disappeared and there's nothing left to do. I've tried placing the relics in each of the alcoves, or back on the altar where I picked them up.

No bug there. You need to match the relics with the alcoves.greengiant wrote:Awesome Mod. I'm really enjoying going slow and finding everything. I love the different strategies to use by going above the level limit of 13. Fantastic job!

EDIT
Out of interest: is the riddle too crude/hard or what is the problem? What did you try to open the gate?
MQ is a young mod so this point may still require some tweaking.

I got the lightning sword from the alcove without ever reading the new wall note (in the first l3 room to the right of the 'real' wall note and related door), so I had no idea what the sword was for; I thought it was just a nice weapon I found, and quickly forgot where I found it. Later, when I got to the second wallpost, I found your above hints, returned to where I had gotten the sword, read the note to the right of the door for the first time, re-did the puzzle (not 'remembering' I had already done it), and found nothing in the alcove. So I read your walkthrough and finally it clicked what had happened...
Anyway, to reproduce this scenario, a person has to both solve the puzzle by chance (easy, since a lot of people might remove all the torches from the outside before placing them on the inside, like I did) and also miss the wall note (not that many people will miss it, but enough, I think). Also, I might have clued faster if the sword was still fresh in my mind when I found the other wall post later in the level, but the two events were in different gaming sessions, separated by a day or two, and I had forgotten about the sword.

Is there some special way of getting over the pits in level 6? No matter how fast I move, the doors never open fast enough on last button and I fall... It appears the steps are on the other side, so I'm stuck.

Just finished and that was a blast! Excellent job! Puzzle updates were very refreshing, new loot was well done, and I love the way you finish end game!
Some of the secrets were pretty tough but all doable with patience and persistence. I especially like the new Figher's Challenge, big upgrade there! When all was said and done, 120 secrets, all treasures, I was sitting at level 17 and a little over 13 hours. Thanks for awesome job with this!

Re: MASTER QUEST HELP: puzzles, clues, SECRETS, WALKTHROUGH
I have been searching for several hours, and I cannot figure out how to access the so-called "frozen area" referenced in the hints. I'm on level 10, ready to proceed to level 11, but I'm totally a completionist, and don't feel like I can move on until I've answered this.
Can anyone give me any tips?

P.S. Amazing mod. Better than the original game on many counts! Immense props to Komag!!(though props must also be given to Almost Human for making it possible, too!)
Edit: Sorry if this was answered previously. I admit to not reading all 30 pages of previous help/comments. I did my best to find the answer there.

I know that going down a pit from The Caverns takes me to an area where I can see where I think I need to be, but I cannot seem to get there. There does not appear to be a pit that leads me there, so I think there must be a switch in that area on level 11, but I cannot find one.

Re: MASTER QUEST HELP: puzzles, clues, SECRETS, WALKTHROUGH
This is similar to the original Grimrock dungeon so there is no switch or something like that. All you need to do is jump into the correct pit. Make a few jumps and compare pits with landing spots. You'll then see which is the right one.straael wrote:SpoilerShowI know that going down a pit from The Caverns takes me to an area where I can see where I think I need to be, but I cannot seem to get there.
