Thanks for the help, but that's not what I mean. On my first playthrough I opened that puzzle first and know how to solve it. I need the key to open the door to GET to the puzzle.

I found it on my previous playthrough, but I'm not finding it this time for some reason.

Still stuck on the same spot as mentioned in the previous post. Anyone have any ideas?

Stuck on Level 6...
SpoilerShow
Northwest of the crystal is an ornamental door with the sign come from the ghosts to go in
SpoilerShow
South of the crystal there is some stairs going down where I need a solid key
SpoilerShow
Off in the southeast there is a door that looks like it needs an emerald or some other green key.
I've acquired two skull keys during my travels so far. I suspect that some or all of these are related and that if I get one then the others will follow suit. If that's the case, just let me know the minimum.

Nice mod. I like the coin exchange for goodies and the healthy dose of tomes.

Please note that the following samples are in 24-bit format and cause an error on Mac and Linux when loading the mod:
mod_assets/sounds/fx2.wav
mod_assets/sounds/fx3.wav

All wav files used by Grimrock should be in 16-bit format so that they work on all platforms. Unfortunately the Windows version of Grimrock does not check for the correctness of bits per sample of audio files so the error has been undetected so far.

oh !!
I really wondered why few people told the MOD don't works...
Thanks for this answer :)

But I think I won't fix it now... it becomes to be an old MOD

It should definitely get fixed - lots of people are downloading and playing our "older" dungeons all the time :)

Any help?

EDIT: And like the others who asked for help, I've solved it as well. I'll leave a clue: You want the ticks, not the tocks.

EDIT2: Now I'm stuck at an even sillier place. I can't find the key needed to open the "Way of Lights" door. I've been through "The Big Four" and found 3 gems in total for the 2 faces, and opened all the north-facing doors in The Shop (which left me with a Silver Coin I can't use right now). But I haven't found this key.

similar problem here :-(

solved 'secret codes' (and found a coin), solved 'big four' (but there are two levers in secret rooms that seem to do nothing), passed 'a dangerous encounter' but found just bow/arrows and armor there... have 2 blue and 1 red gem atm, and no key to open the "Way of Lights" door!
Maybe I should have opened the "Way of Lights" door first, find another key there, and only then go for the "big four"? It's a bad design/bug in this case...

btw Unkillable Cat, how did you happen to open more than one gate in the shop? I mean I had one coin, it opened one gate... it seems I've inspected all the walls for buttons - no luck to find more secrets/coins

At one point (and I have no idea how or when) a standard wall by the shop became an illusionary wall, which led to an alcove and another coin. Check your map to find it. This may be related to those 2 levers in the "Big Four" room. I have opened 3 doors in total in the shop, as one of the doors has another coin behind it.

There is a secret room in the "Dangerous Encounter" room, but it doesn't help our predicament. There is also another secret room in the "Big Four" room which contains treasure, but again doesn't do anything. (I don't even know how to open it, it was just open when I passed there at one point. IIRC, there is also a coin to be found in the far northeastern corner of "The invisible path".

As for bad design, that the Way of Lights must be done before the Big Four? I'm not sure. On my previous playthrough I unlocked the Way of Lights, completed it, but found no key to enter the Big Four. The problem is just getting that second key. I can see another point of bad design, which is to start a mod with a Double Lock and follow it up immediately with a Quadruple Lock.

(If anyone's wondering what I'm talking about with a Quadruple Lock, it's the concept in gaming where you run into a 'door' where you need to run around and collect four keys or pull four levers in order to progress. It's usually thrown at the player when he's just about to reach the end. It serves no purpose whatsoever except as filler material meant to kill time and "prolong" the experience. There are COUNTLESS games guilty of this, and they're always just a pointless obstacle in the path of the player. To see one thrown in AT THE START? Let's just say I'm not impressed.)

I noticed this illusionary wall immediately upon approaching the shop, I saw the snail goes there :) unfortunately, no coin there - checked it several times... I also opened all the gates (by save-loading) and didn't find any additional coins there as well...

I've seen the spots you are talking about. But - thank you very much - I overlooked the coin in the 'invisible path' section :) so at least I'll obtain a better axe.

good news is the problem is not in 'bad design' I was talking about, bad news my theory goes broken, but again it's good I don't have to restart the level just to confirm this :)

I can only say, in this sense "The Chaos key" looks better for me than "The Master key". For now, I'm not bored yet :)
