Thanks! It's my first ever attempt at modelling a creature, and I'm quite proud of how it turned out. Now I need to learn how to animate it...Komag wrote:(and I LOVE the bat!)

Sounds great, and moddable, cool. Can't wait to learn more about it

Going totally off topic, and apologies for that, but wouldn't it be cool that someone made an RPG/dungeon/scenario/whatever with "betrayal" in the title, where the betrayal being the fact that there's no betrayal in the storyline?

Hi Georges, Is it true that you are a music professor and that you are doing this on your free time, along with a friend of yours?Diarmuid wrote:Thanks! If so, you are admirable. You know I am a huge fan of the eye of the beholder series, especially EOB2 which I consider, the best rpg ever, with M&M IV + V as second. So reading through your blog, and finding out that your love for these games are the driving force behind your attempt I can only wish you that you fulfill your dream and we enjoy a good game.
Another question, that you may answer if you want: How do you learn programming and computer modelling at this level? Did you do it as a hobby? Because I suppose that creating alone a game, is quite a difficult task, if you do not have specific experience. I am a programmer also, though on different bussiness area, and I know that games programming, needs certain skills, which you cannot be acquired so easy.
Again, wish you good luck in your attempt!

Hi greco,
Yes, I'm doing this in my free time indeed, and I've done all the programming, graphics and modeling up to date alone. Neikun here on the forums is helping me by testing builds from time to time (giving great feedback) and also with design decisions (which skills should be in, how should an attribute be named, is my idea about a race making sense...). There's also a few people here, like JohnWordsworth, Xanathar & msyblade, who are giving good ideas and insights on different issues when I need some help.
I've been playing around with 3D and programming as a teenager, before setting on to go study in music, so I have some background experience. But I mostly learned everything in the past 6 months, through a lot of reading through resources available on the net, forums, etc. For 3D software, video training such as what you can get on digital-tutors.com is amazing. Anyway, if you managed to survive through a PhD, it means you know how to find information, study and learn things quickly all by yourself.
Thanks for the encouragement!
