What difficulty will you be playing?

Talk about anything Legend of Grimrock 1 related here.

It's perfectly ok to play on Easy. My better half is playing Grimrock on Easy and she's really enjoying it, which is very nice because she doesn't play RPGs at all. Note that Easy is more challenging than Normal difficulty in your average modern game.

Nice would be a 'price' for completing it at hard-old school. (special ending screen or little extra level)
Just as an idea for possible LoG 2, if there is not already something like this.
Something like the Ultra-ending of Wizardry 4.

Well I do play RPGs and games "en masse" - but I more into puzzles and exploring that monster-bashing.
But it sounds as though it will be challanging enough even on easy then.

Difficulty affects monsters only and has nothing to with the puzzle difficulty? Surely you haven't done three versions of the puzzles...

...and get the monsters only more HP at hard? Or better AI, or...better dice rolls?

Actually, I'm not too sure what difficulty does.

Increase monster to-hit chance and damage?

Could actually be a great idea to divide it.
Like...be able to choose:
Monsters=easy/normal/hard.
Puzzles=easy/normal/hard.

For me I like easy-peasy spaghetti-armed monsters but I like very difficult (logical though!) puzzles.

I expect many puzzels to have something to do with the dungeon layout. Hard to scale...

I believe after I finish the game with hard difficulty and automap on, I will move on to no automap.
