There are no buttons in that room. If you somehow - no idea how since the crazy door never opens up enough - managed to get inside the plate's room without(!) bringing the jammed door to a halt you are definately stuck. It's either load an older save game or cheat yourself out with the console.

I'll have to take another look - there is a momentary pause the first time it gets started, so if you disabled it, then are on the N side of the gate, then start it going again but run in real fast before it goes nuts, maybe that's what' happened.

EDIT - I tested it more with this in mind, and yes, if you pick up and put down the item on the plate a couple times, if the timing is just right, the door will open enough to get inside, and then it goes crazy and you're trapped! :o I'll definitely fix this for next update!

It's not a big deal, I'm a savegame kinda guy ;) Just wanted you to know it is possible to get in (and not out again) without taking the torch. Minor bug I guess.

this is the sort of thing that is just so easy to miss in creating and beta-testing, some weird way to get the party stuck, and only after release and lots of people are playing to these obscure problems pop up.

So thank you very much for the discovery, one more bug nailed! 8-)

Ok, I beta-tested The Chaos Key, so I know what you are talking about, believe me! Maybe I can have a clue in return? ;) After solving the Maze of Madness I am locked in a hallway. A scroll popped up with the text 'The noisy control lies beyond the lever. Don't take your eyes off it'. So I keep looking at the lever, had a biscuit and a smoke, but nothing happens..... What am I missing?

i just imagined you standing there staring at the lever .. :mrgreen:

This clue is not ment to be taken THAT literal! Just keep an eye on it when walking :D

Well, I did just that and walked my tail off, keeping an eye on the lever. I preferred the staring, which at least got me in a happy alpha state of mind.... ;) Nothing happens. A nagging thought is going through my head: another bug? Savegame anyone? Komag? Dr.Disaster?

That one is not bugged, just tricky. ;)

If you flip the lever and nothing happens, you are in the alternate hall. step E a couple steps to be in the real hall, then DON'T step S around that corner or you'll go right back to the alternate hall, hence the hint to keep watching the lever. Step back W to the lever and use it and now it will open the wall, and you can use the "noisy control"
