Well, 3x24 = 72MB, leaving about 30 for core stuff, makes sense to me. I'd say let's each keep around 3 as an general objective, and we can optimize at the end. Right now the main file is 22MB, but 14MB out of that is for Lord Yig's keys stuff. We can cut this in half by removing the gems and keeping only the keys and locks. We can then further trim it in the end based on unused stuff.

The whole central hub takes about 1MB only.

Seeing there are 16 names on the list right now, maybe we should just go with that, 24 might be a bit optimistic unless some do 2 rooms.

Sure, well, we could spread out the rooms more evenly across the three levels and that would leave us plenty of space for some bonus sections/secrets around.

We could have 6 rooms on floor 1, 5 on floor 2 and 5 on floor 3... And this would leave space if someone wanted to join along the way. If you agree to this, I'll update the map layout.

Anyway, as I said, the file is quite ready to start shipping, so I don't know how spiderfighter wants to do that. Someone calls up "I'm next" and we pass him the file?

As we all know the dimensions of the rooms, we can also work on our side on the design: I know I will prepare in advance so that I can implement things fast when the main file comes back to me.

Well, in the last mod we did it in order, but I guess there's no reason to do that here. We can always keep it open for more people as we go along, as the signup list has only been up for a few days. The following people have not chosen a specific room...do any of you want to go first? ;)

Right, we can just keep room numbers as they are right now, but not have all rooms used, to spread out things across floors. So move me up to room 19, and assign to these 4 jolly fellows some rooms in the 17-24 range, and we'll be good to go.

Rooms 1, 11, 12, 14 & 15 can just stay empty for now. In the end we'll be able to adjust keys/rooms ratios to progress as we wish, it's easy to move doors around :).

How does that sound?

EDIT: I'm sure some more people will pop in along the way...

Are we going to manually merge the changes or do we have some sort of tool to do that?

I think Spider's idea was that we each build it directly in one file that we pass along. That way there's no merging problems. If people design things in advance, they copy that themselves in the main file when they get it, if I understood the idea correctly.

That seems easiest to me in terms of ensuring no conflicts, but if we want to release sooner, maybe we could work two copies at a time and then merge? I'll defer to the majority on this.

Woohoo! There's space available on the second floor right now... how about room 12?
