ROFL!!! I saw that...5 minutes he wasted. Lesson learned to actually read the "read me"?
Re: Mod published: Wine Merchant's Basement
I guess I should have come here and read all this first, because I also JUST WASTED 5 MIN!
It really would be a good idea for any mod that overrides the party to say so in the dungeon description, so players will be warned

Re: Mod published: Wine Merchant's Basement
I too am guilty of making a party for naught. But I admittedly just scanned the description so I can't say for sure if it mentioned it or not.
I just finished the mod toight. 4hrs, 54min and 9/12 secrets found. Died once to Malbona on the final battle.
My review:
This is the only mod I've played so far and if others are to this caliber I have a lot of dungeon crawling enjoyment ahead of me, (once I get my mod done.)
Extremely pleased with your tremendous work.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing you mod. There were a couple puzzles at first that I'm not sure how I solved them, they just seemed to solve themselves, but as a general rule the puzzles were very well done. I wasn't able to solve the prophet one because I accidently hit save instead of load after falling through once. I enjoyed the unique story and really liked the part when they were going to leave and Sheola remembered wo he was all of a sudden and stopped the party from leaving. That change in direction is so reminescent of many works of classic literature. The lighting effects were great, surprises around every corner and that hissing sound that Malbona would make right when he trapped the party literally had me jump out of my chair on a few occasions.
I did find a a couple small spelling errors but I didn't write down where, and not worth repairing.

It is kind of late, but I changed the description of my mod. It now includes a warning not to make or import a party.
Since English isn't my native tongue there are bound to be some spelling errors left in there, but I have already corrected a gazillion with the help of the community.
Spelling is definitely one of my weaknesses.
And for the prophet test:

there was no way to solve that. But only real prohets of Malbona would pass that test and you aren't real prophet anyway, are you?
Did you visit the Wine Merchant's Basement? And heard about the Awakening of Taarnab?
Re: Mod published: Wine Merchant's Basement
i need one hint for a puzzle of this mod...
SpoilerShow
in one puzzle you have to reach the other side of the room, level 2, and the room is filled of traps: some of them open other not.
if i fall i find two skeletal warriors but i was not able to reach the other side...how i can do it?

Limner, you talk about the trial of the prophet.limner wrote:i need one hint for a puzzle of this mod...

Only real prophets of Malbona can pass. Are you really his prophet? I think not. You just went down to get some wine.
So in short: The way to "succeed" storywise is to fall down. There is no way to really solve that puzzle.

Hello
First of thanks for such a great Map mahric. You know what I enjoyed playing that more then the real game it was just that good.
I think it was because of the story and and the fact it was short that I enjoyed it more.
When LOG 2 comes out I hope its not just one game and is lots of short storys that would be soooo Cool.
I got the wine at the end it's a shame I don't like red .
Pros
everything.
Cons
No where near enough emply flasks.
Thanks again for makin my life just a little bit better.

If you didn't already, be sure to check out the awakening of taarnab, the second mod I made.
And with the new technical posibillities like dialogs more and more people bring out mods where the story is an important part.
And with LoG2 things can only get better, with the original game and the mods that people make!

Re: Mod published: Wine Merchant's Basement
This is the 2nd mod I've ever played for Grimrock (I just got the game about 2 months ago and beat the main game last week), behind GoldLust.
This mod was fun. Took me about 3 hours and 15 minutes to escape (but sadly I only found 11 out of 12 secrets). Great storyline and interesting way to build the party as you go.
