how can I download mods from Steam

Post by mishRa »

how can I download mods for "Legend of Grimrock" from "Steam"? I signed up and have subscribed to the 4 mods that interest me. The Steam Software I have installed because I thought that I can use it to download my subscription. Unfortunately it did not work. What is the solution?

You need the Steam version of LoG to download from the Workshop (it will not work with the GOG or stand-alone version!). If you have the Steam version then you need to click on subscribe like you did and it will automatically download and install the mod. Takes a while depending on your connection and the size of the mod of course.

Oh, I bought the stand-alone and not the Steam version. That means I can not play the mods, if they are available only on Steam ...?

@mishRa: Unfortunately, that is true. But most modders realise that there are a large number of GOG and Stand-alone Grimrock players and so they also release their mods on the Grimrock Nexus (http://grimrock.nexusmods.com).

I am not sure how Grimrock works, but I think that you can add you copy of game to the Steam - for example I added my Skyrim (bought in CZ as boxed, because Skyrim was not available on Steam for customers from Czech Republic (this sucks btw) Now it is, but with one year dealy. After adding of my copy to Steam I was able to downolad from Skyrim workshop.
