It's been the 11th April here for about 10 hours and still no release! How disapointing!
What's the chance one of your dev's is a bit of a TF2 fan and may have made up some brilliant accessories that Valve are just about to add the game...? Too much to ask? I'm hoping that this will be out by the time I get home from work today.
While I agree with the last poster, hats could generate a lot of publicity, so that would be a good thing. Not sure what the Valve deals are, though. And seeing as devs are partying up with Gog.com for pre-orders rather than Steam, I can imagine Valve might not be their BFF's.
Haha... interesting responses I like the snail sitting on a players' head though. The hats aren't interactive, just a visual thing... yes, it's gimmicky but the publicity is the key. The Valve guys seem really open to community based projects and often incorporate models in to the game that were (almost) exclusively made by fans.
The "hat" (or whatever) could be earnt via Steam achievement, which in turn would encourage players to pick up LoG so-as to get the achievement and earn the hat. Damn... reading that back makes it sound stupid. I reckon other TF2 players will understand though. What the hell is it with hats and that game? PS: It could be an axe/weapon or a mask etc
I always found the TF2 hats to be a rather cute gimmick, and as far as pre-order bonuses goes, I prefer them to most other systems (pre-order bonuses that adds extra levels or give you new weapons & items is something that I don't like, because that means that you actually miss out on something important from the game itself, but small cosmetic things is something that I don't mind). I've never pre-ordered due to a TF2 hat, in fact I don't have a single pre-order hat (I rarely pre-order games, Grimrock is the first exception in a very long time), but nor do I mind them. And it is fun to see some of the rather inventive TF2 extras that Valve has come up with over the years

What makes you think that? What type are we? WE ARE GAMERS!
I love tf2.
Zimbu is the one who made a thread with a title that was just a string of swears, and people jumped down his throat. He is probably still sore over that.
