No, in fact even if you survive the fall, you face a literal army of fire that I suspected nobody would succeed in killing.

Playing v 1.1 on the Linux Grimrock.
Targan Level

I've got Both Fire Scrolls, a fire bomb and a fire arrow on the altar in the room marked Fire Chapel.
The same in the other three elements.
The door still didn't open.
Also I tried casting spells at them.
Noting that my mage has Greater Fireballs etc.
Did I find another bug in the client?

If it's opened by a receptor, the game tells a difference between fireball and greater fireball. This means if the mage gets to be a high enough fire level, a door opened with a receptor activated by fireball will stop working.

There is a workaround. Simply put an invisible receptor on the same space as the fireball receptor. Have this one activated by greater fireball. This way, both kinds of fireball will work.

Actually. I got it to go off.
It turns out that if you have more than one item on any altar, even if they are the correct type of item then it won't fire.
I got it to work with the bombs. I tried that first so that I didn't need to worry about the question of greater vs lesser.

Now I'll have to go see if I can figure out where the "center" is after I try to look meek for the boss.

hi, i'm in tarjan level, and i can't figure at all what this all about...

i've putt arrows and bombs on each altar, and casted spell (only had a doubt about ice, maybe passed over...)

what's the deal with the fibonacci sequence mentionned? i don't even ear a sound while starving to death on that level ;)

could you tell me how to get to the library por favor ? :roll:

See subQ's comments above about the altars. You only need one type of item on each altar. So

the fire altar can have a fire bomb or fire arrow, but not both. But not altars need to have the same type of item. So fire could have an arrow and earth a bomb.
Spell castings are not accepted here.

You can't get into the library until after the boss battle on this level so don't worry about that yet.

K. I finished it.
It's pretty good.
I never did figure out how to "be worthy" but standing in a corner with your back to a life crystal definitely helps.

I didn't try totally carrying absolutely nothing. but I got as far as leaving all clothing items in the other room.
I never solved the bed problem. It did occur to me later that maybe it has the same one item requirement, but that seems odd given the alcoves have multiples. I never found the hint about it, so I don't know what it says.

I'm about to throw in the towel on this one. I'm stuck in the lever madness on the riddle level. I've got the two notes and I have no idea what they mean or how to use them. Are the clues some sort of "insider" thing (such as the binary clue earlier on), or am I simply blind to it?
