if it is just to move around , then better use the party:setPosition(...) command

The "python crap" was from last year, long before the more recent simple solution was an option

Hey guys ive got .problem thats been driving me mental. Im using v1.3.1. Activated console just fine. When i enter - spawn("rock") - i get a "attempt to call global spawn (a nil value)".

What gives? I tried this sometime last year and worked just fine. Now, nothing.

Can someone give me a hint? Ive scowered google for tips but i seem to be the only one having this issue.

Why not update to 1.3.7? Might outright solve your problem: http://www.grimrock.net/patch/

Hey thanks, i was just about to post that I patched to v1.3.7. Still no dice unfortunately.

Edit: i did the annoying reinstall and it works. Wonder why. Thanks anyways! Time to enjoy my newly spawned rock.

If a reinstall worked then maybe it was a cfg issue

Just had the same problem. I'm just too slow, I always run out of food and torches in player-made mods. :)

Reinstalled the game as well to get it to work. I believe the reason for this error is that some people (like me) still had the old files from the Python/Lua method of enabling the console in their Grimrock directory - the updater will not modify those.

I need help!!!
i know this is a really old post, but my console is showing some weird characters, instead on normal text! is it some codec or something? anyone experienced this?! please, i cant use the console like this T~T
