Flat ceiling is definitely cool. But please don't throw away the previous one from couple days ago (the one with bubbles or small boulders). It may be useful for creating variations of this wallset.

I really don't like the flat ceiling, it looks horrible to me, just not real or something.

I agree, it look's boring/cheap. The alternate spoiler-version looks better, yet not as good as the ceiling used previously.

Great job with that seamless ceiling!

I think the version used in spoiler is the better choice.
However for me the previous version was better than the two last versions of the ceiling.
Since we Mod old games to have a Graphical Update (with the LoG-Engine) to the original versions, in my opinion not everything has to be 100% the same like in the original version. So if you liked the previous version of the ceiling more, use it, the game still looks like original-EoB.

Just my 2 Cents

I think that is a matter of taste, everyone has his personal taste and feelings, for me the most interesting and realistic ceiling was the flat version, but maybe a poll would do the work in order to get a decision.

Poll? "Designed by a committee" is rarely a good idea. I had to endure many pains of using systems that were designed that way.

Anyway, my reasoning for flat ceiling is that this is supposed to be sewers, not a palace. Sewers are built simple. Wooden elements on the ceiling would rot very quickly, so it wouldn't be practical. Sewers should look crude, primitive and dirty. That's why I also liked this: http://imageshack.us/a/img703/6025/eobr ... rframe.jpg. That ceiling looked like covered with wet mold. That's exactly what I would expect in sewers.

But that's just my opinion. I think DJ should make the decision what he likes best.

I make this flat ceiling only as the sample, for the limner's request, I showed how will it looks...

In my opinion, the flat ceiling don't looks good, and is unfit for the realistic 3D Grimrock engine. I think, we will using the ceiling with the "beams" and for the sewers we use the one covered with wet mold, as thomson points.
I add more 3D details to the center of the ceiling in next version.

I think I like the flat one myself. I'd like to see both in there.

I just had an opportunity to look at the new wallset that DJ did. Let me say that is looks simply terrific.

Here are three extra screenshots:
1. New ceiling with drainage gate and sewers fog http://i48.tinypic.com/2lms2om.png
2. Kobold rune (note beautiful scratches around it) http://i46.tinypic.com/s4xg8h.png
3. new hidden button http://i50.tinypic.com/fuct3k.png

I just remembered that there's a compass available, so I enabled it when shooting screenshot 3.

In general, fantastic work. It really looks amazing.

I'd like to report two bugs. First is related to kobold rune. If you stand next to it and have the run on your right side, it will look like a large black box: http://i49.tinypic.com/30krtac.png. The easiest way to reproduce this is to go to 18,12 in level 1 and look north. The second is related to drainage gate at 25,21 on level 1. When you click it, there's empty text showing up. In original EOB, there was a creature hiding in there with only eyes visible. Once clicked, a message about unknown creature running away was printed. I suspect this is a preparation for such an action, so I'm not sure if it is a bug or a work in progress.

I'm sorry I wasn't active recently. There's large project release due next week I was working on my day job. I sucks in all my brain powers for now. Hopefully, things will get better next week.

It really looks great. I'd like to ask DJ to upload it to Steam and nexusmods. The number one complain over there is that the old wallset is too bright. Due to bug in dungeon editor I can't upload it myself. But I can prepare thumbnail images to reflect recent additions.
