I'd like to hear Phitt's opinion. if he feels it's fair to have him in his own category, lets do it. If not, then we keep it normal.

Oh...I feel flattered now. Thanks for all the nice comments about my mod!

Personally I don't care how you handle this. I mean, what can I say - 'hur hur, my mod will win anyway'? I would have to lie if I said I don't want to win (I did put a lot of effort into the mod after all), but it would be quite arrogant if I said I'm sure I will win.

I would be happy with regular voting, I'd be happy with a 'special category' and I would be happy with just a honorable mention. I don't think I can decide this as it's my mod and I can hardly declare myself as the winner of the contest. Or can I?

I think the other nominees should decide.

I didn't play that many mods lately, but since 'The big friendly Warden' didn't make it in the last competition I'd like to nominate it again. I like 'Pyramid of Xafi' as well, but I didn't manage to play through the whole mod yet...I think I'll have to ask for help as I'm currently stuck.

I don't care my dungeon is nominate or not, to be beaten by this beautiful dungeon which is the mines (great job Phitt!) ;)
But I feel there is a total lack or respect for my work... :|
The worst is I bet all the people who said there is no need to vote this month, they didn't tried my mod...
Maybe it could be more interesting that people can vote only if they played the mods...

Anyway I don't want to make trouble about that here, this is a wonderful community and I'm very happy to contribute

As this being my first modding experience, I have to say, it is very very hard for me to find time to play mods when all I ever do is make them! haha

I hear a lot of praise for Panda's mod. This makes me want to try it. That said, I have so many projects on the go, and what with taking the leadership role of the Legends of the Northern Realms, it may be even longer still.
So many mods I've started but still have to beat! :o

I still haven't tried most of the nominations in the contest of last month either :o

Oooh - what a mini can of worms. Now I've stopped and thought about it - I think we had a good idea to start with (the standard DOTM model) and we just stick with it. All of this talk today (mine especially) was just spur of the moment talk of us mod-makers who are constantly trying to optimise, improve and tweak. All those are good things, but lets just do it as it says on the tin. Personally, I was just trying to take everyone's comments on board, but that was not thought through properly - apologies (especially to you PandaFox! I wasn't trying to say anything about the quality of the entries - I just know the voting community is still quite small, so when posts like the earlier ones go around they can influence the voters - but that's the point of the DOTM and the voter prize - to draw more players in to the forum to vote!).

I can't wait to test all of the mods that are nominated (even if it's just the first hour or two) when nominations close :). Everything in the initial post still stands and I'll add The Big Friendly Warden to the list.

Hi Pandafox,

I sincerely apologize for what I said earlier, I didn't mean to be disrespectful, just saw that everyone was going "miiiiine..." in the thread and thought thomson's suggestion was funny in a way. :?

As Neikun put it, modding and playing takes a lot of time, as is following what gets finished. I honestly didn't know many other mods as "finished" as phitt's one were made this month, and forgot we could re-nominate mods.

I wanted to praise phitt's work, not disrespect others'. It is true I haven't played the master key and really should have thought for a second before jumping on the keyboard.

I thank this thread for bringing Panda's mod to my attention, I'll download and start his mod tonight, and then vote intelligently when voting comes.

No bad feelings I hope! ;)

I too, apologize. I think there was humor in the initial post, and that may have had something to do with the bandwagon mentality some of us displayed today. It wasn't Thomson's joke, it was my follow up, and others following without regard for anything but the point at hand (Haha! The mine was REALLY good wasn't it? haha!) I think John is perfectly within the bounds of fairness to then listen to what is occurring, and I think he is fair in ending the discussion. It was unfair and shortsighted.

On an unrelated note, In James Bond Lore there is a "Sean Connery Award for the Second best Bond". Noone wonders how that makes Roger Moore feel, it's just a funny joke to begin with, however insensitive. I like to think all of us make every effort to support one another in all situations/predicaments. I certainly do not want anyone to feel underappreciated. This is a small, tightly knit, and worldwide community that has some qualities I have never been a part of. I am proud to know you guys, and am sorry if my tendency to spout off ever would cause anyone disappointment/annoyance. (Well, I may haveta live with the annoyance part, but NEVER disrespect!) :D

That's ok I understand, I just wanted to notice that ;)

And..... to be honest, my vote also goes to Phitt
I didn't played his dungeon yet (same problem as all the moders... not enough time) but only his mine tileset deserves to win !
What a good work, and probably took a very long time!
Phitt, please, don't make a new dungeon with a new wonderful tileset when I will release my next mod ! ahahah !

Well...I was thinking about another way to recognize the mods. Instead of this model, why not rate every module you ALREADY played?

In my opinion, using this formula will keep all the good modules on the top not just for a month, but for the entire time. This way, the newbies could have a chance to know that they would be playing a nice module...or not.

Besides, last votation we had a winner and some other amazing modules are forgotten this time. What do you guys think?

That sounds like a good idea. And now I feel a little guilty not having played Pandafox' dungeon yet. But like I said it's a lack of time that's really to blame. No doubt Pandafox put a lot of effort into it.
