Alright, will I don't expect everyone to be so detailed. Here is my signup and a little of what I can do and what I'm weak at.
Asteroth:
Skills:
Retexturing/coloring: What I am most known for. The altering of existing pallates. I've been called particularly good at setting up an aesthetic/atomsphere.
EXTREMELY simple modelling: I can perform basic adjustments to existing items. Or take an item and maybe make something new. This is, despite limitations, one of my more unique talents. As most people are afraid of starting, leaving a limited(though not too small) pool of modelers. So far I have made spiked skull, horned skull, a rather ugly lamp, and rather impressively a scytheviewtopic.php?f=14&t=3926&p=47686&hilit=scythe#p47686.
Story?: I am VERY slow at writing. However, I have been said (not here) to make creative tales. Unforunately they are also said to be rather disturbing. Probably not apropriate.
Weaknesses:
Scripting/coding: I am the single worst living creature, capable of typing, at this. Just ask msyblade, he knows.
Art: Strangely, I am not even capable of actually drawing a stickman. I just make up for it through extensive photo manipulation of existing texures. Thus if you need a mural, I can't draw that. Through my extensive practice, by now I may be able to mix copy/paste and alterations to make a rather simple fake though. But you should probaly ask someone else.
I am the God of darkness and corruption.

Count me in, What I can offer (and hinder):

Strengths:
Concept/Design, Simple scripting/debugging, troubleshooting, compiling assets, storylines/atmosphere.

Weaknesses:
No modeling/graphic skills. At all. Scripting is sloppy/amateur. Can make it work, but it will be ugly. No Web cam right now, simple investment tho (after a gfx card!)

Take it or leave it:
Long winded, tend to ramble. However, I don't stay idle for long, so it can be a plus. Can "get the ball rolling" if stagnant.
Currently conspiring with many modders on the "Legends of the Northern Realms"project.

Thanks for taking the steps to detail your strengths and what not. This will help encourage others to do the same.
For the sake of formality:

Neikun:
Skills: Texture modification, model modification, creative solutions to problems, writer, musician, (Attempting electronically generated sound effects)
playtesting for sense.

Weaknesses: Easily distracted, often start too many projects.

Unavailable now, but maybe in the future: Dungeon design.

You guys rock!

Here is a summary of the postreplies today:

Msyblade:
If anyone feels like trying, I will make the Hotel Hades 2 source files available, and I know some other creators have offered their work. Maybe we should just start with trying to link 3 dungeons, without an overworld, And expand on that work as resources become available?

McSkivv:
We just need one guy to organize the whole affair, distribute special jobs, act as Public Relations (in the rare occasion that PR is needed), and to have the final say when we can't unanimously agree on something.

I recommend an expandable proof of concept? Say for instance, we could make the Isle of Nex. It's small and it would make a good starting area for players. Making it first would be a good way to test the water and we could distribute it as a beta product to get people's attention.

As far as the overall plan goes, I think that the whole world should be one dungeon. 100 floors, 20 dedicated for the overworld, 80 for the dungeons. Dungeons should be two-to-four floors in length (Smaller, plentiful dungeons sounds like a better idea for an open-world free-to-explore adventure).

Whatever the story is, it should start out light. This is after all an open-world adventure game ala the Elder Scrolls, and a very in depth story could lead to a feeling of linearity or being forced into a given path. That isn't to say we can't have a really cool story, but it needs to be handled carefully so as to not compromise the freedom that this mod should emphasize.

Neikun:
If we could brainstorm together for a sort of end of game "boss" something that all the little mods in hint about apart from their own goings on that can bring this mega-level to an actual gameEnd.

Throughout the entire mega-level, each dungeon has it's own inner story, but it also hints towards something larger. Something that affects the entire Northern Realms.

Draft the story in a private group chat to avoid spoiling it for our audience

We should register contributers and keep them listed on the front page. All those who want to take part in this could share skype info (privately if you prefer) and we could have group discussions on the direction of the project.

We need to make a list of who's involved int his project. Arkos will need to add the list to the first post. From there, we can all mail each other our skype names. This will solve live discussions.
We will need to set up a git shortly after. While we may not yet be in a stage to start building the dungeon, we need a notepad type file to keep track of suggestions and approved decisions.

Consider this thread to be the sign up sheet for this project.
If you'd like to participate, say so here so we can start making a list.

John Smith:
We can have small towns across continents connected via dungeons and roads. The roads will only open after you have completed everything story necessary in that area.

project name ideas:
Legends of The Northern Realms (Implying that each smaller mod is its own legend, leading into a bigger one?)

Asteroth:
There has always been one crirical scene I associate with this project: When you reach the final dungeon with all the relics, you have to place each one on an alter, then a big door slowly grinds open into the dungeon. To me, that really has to happen.

Arkos:
Dude! I can totally see this! Some toxic fumes coming out too that actually take hit points off of you—awesome!
More summary…

Neikun, Asteroth, and msyblade officially signed up as contributors. From their postreplies, I’m assuming John Smith and McSkivv are contributers as well. Let me know if I’m missing something or if I need to edit something. Also, count me in :)

My short bio…
Big Concepts and small ideas like:
hidden pressure plate teleporters
Xafi rapid throwing star launcher (shoots like 3-4 stars a second, one clip would hold 15 or so throwing stars) and adds more attack power per throwing star – sound affects would sound something like the Halo 4 assault rifle
I would like to see an area like the mines of moria in one of the mountain ranges. I have an awesome idea for the entrance of a dungeon (maybe the final one), but for private discussion only :)

I like pushing the envelope; I’m resourceful and good at figuring out how to get things to work: coding scripting, github, whatever
My time is also very limited: getting CS degree, Father of 5 children, work full time, etc.
I played Dungeon Master as a kid, hanging out at the screamer generator for days to get my guys to become Arc Masters in everything before going down further in the dungeon, so I have an unruly passion for the Dungeon Crawling genre. When I found LoG, by following a 10 year old thread in the Dungeon Master forum, it was like being a kid on Christmas morning or Columbus with speed boats (Geico commercial).

Weaknesses: I forget things easily

I’m good at figuring out how to get things to work, so I could work on setting up the github—let me know :) Also, I could help with Dungeon design. I updated the first post with the project’s contributors. I’m not on skype yet, so please let me know when the first group discussion will be.

The group discussion is ongoing. Skype will log missed messages. Important topics will be logged and put on GIT.
I have set up a git, but I'm still working out how to publish changes.

John and Mcskivv are listed collaborators n.n

John Smith
The Drunken Illiterate Dyslexic Writer, Voice Actor, and Abridger

Skills:

Writing:
Worked for Highschool of the Dead Abridged as a script writer, has drafted a couple of novels, and has written a few short stories, I understand many of the elements of good story telling and am especially aware of how to make a good story flow.

Directing:
Having working on several internet projects in the past, I am familiar with what it takes to keep a project flowing, keeping everyone on the same page, and keeping everyone in line.

Swift Learner:
I am quick on the uptake and after being explained a concept and been given the chance to apply it to something once or twice, I have it down from there.

Weaknesses:

Modding Experience:
I have little experience modding LoG. The most I've done can be seen in my Unfinished Legend of Zelda Dungeon. While I can work on simple dungeon layouts, I am nowhere near an expert or would be able to do anything more complex then anything shown in the dungeon without further practice.

Art:
I am a writer, not an artist. I couldn't draw a strait line if I wanted to, let alone recolor or retexture anything.

Time:
Being split between this project, abridging, school, having a social life, and taking time out to just breath, I will be hard pressed on it. But I am determined to be a part of this project, and will try my hardest to work it into my tight scheduled.
My personal website: 38chan.net
I am the writer for H.O.T.D.Abridged. You can check it out by clicking there.

McSkivv:

Strengths: I'm fairly organized, I think I'm decent at level design (You be the judge on that), and I'm decent at coming up with interesting concepts for story and level-design.

Weaknesses: My scripting skills are blegh because I don't know lua, my time is limited because I'm a college student, I tend to get distracted, and I'm no good at fleshing out complex stories. My artistic skills are such that I consider small children superior artists.

In summary: I can build interesting dungeons, but the time I have to spend doing that is limited. I can help with story concept, but I can only provide a supportive role once it comes to fleshing out characters, motivation, etc. I'm fairly organized and I think I can help keep track of the "big picture" in relation to the project, but I'm liable to get distracted by other things if/when the project stretches out into weeks and months.

Looking at this list... If I can help, practically anyone can.

Got a PM from a player a bit ago, and thought I'd pass it on to you guys. If this doesn't motivate you, you aren't in for the right reasons :D

oh okay thanks, also i saw that you were working with the people making LoG world and i would like to thank you and everyone there for even trying to make such a great concept. also i wanted to make my own levels and that's part of the reason i wanted stand alone mods of those so i could implement them myself

Anyone interested in this project is advised to sign up here and send me a private message with your skype name so I can add you to the official discussion group and get you set up with out git hub.

A couple names I'd like to see contribute a little would be
  • Skuggasvein (good eye for details and one hell of a good modeler)
Jkos (A scripting god, and is more familiar with Github than any of us)
Komag (Better at organizing things than I am)
    Diarmund (An excellent scripter)
Germanny (I understand if he's busy, but his assets are so good)
    Phitt, LordYig, wallasaurus..ect
I'd like to see a large part of the community contribute at least in part.
Dungeon design can be left to people who design dungeons, but asset creation and the scope of this project will require many more hands.
The biggest hurdle as it stands right now is getting us assembled and organized.
I fear that I can only do so much as in roughly thirty days I'm going to be moving across country and will likely be offline for about a week.
It is my hope that this project really gets off the ground before then.

I'm phasing in and out of existence as usual, but I may be able to contribute to storywriting, dungeon building and light gruntwork scripting. Especially on a longer timescale. I am really bad at making up puzzles.

My calendar tends to be empty for a month, then suddenly fill with all sorts of things I never expected only to empty itself again, and I also confess to the weakness of having too many projects at a time. So I'm not going to be a major contributor, to be frank.

If I can get a recorder (which is definitely unsure at the moment), I can also do sound-stuff, voice acting and simple sound-effects. But that is a thing for the future.

So, if you need something, tell me and I'll do my best.

I also have a mod under progress I'm setting in the city of Ranwyn, or how I envision it. It is a part of a simple (and slightly epic) storyline set in the Grimrock world. If that is of interest to this project.

I also don't know how I didn't notice this before.
