Really bizarre. I played your save game and confirmed it was the killing of one of those spiders that started the corrupt game. Killing the snail, activating the trigger, then saving is fine; but saving after killing a spider caused my new game to become corrupt. This makes no sense at all, they are just preplaced spiders with nothing special about them leading to a crash about torch holders. Never seen anything like this.

A very nice mod, especialy considering that only Dungeon Editor features and no custom assets were used as far as i noted.
SpoilerShow
"behind the left eye" shows how buttons are truly hidden
The pyramid is very well balanced; at first i feared my party would starve but after i noticed monsters respawning it was snail (and later on herder) hunting season. At first some puzzles and rooms seem like roadblocks. But after a while i realized that thinking 3D is required to solve this i enjoyed it a lot and took the default party to the Apex in 7:22 with 14 of 18 secrets. In parts it reminded me of Chaos Strikes Back.

By reading some posts here picking up a few hints i managed to ramp the secret count up to 17 of 18. The remaining secret must hold the Lurker Vest because it's the only piece of advanced gear missing. I guess it's connected to the level 6 prison cells which i can't open anymore since there is only 1 prison key and exp-greedy me decided to battle the undead army rather early in the game.

EDIT
Nope, the level 6 cells are not involved, the Lurker Vest is located there. Just found that out by a replay with 4 ranged minotaur rogues.

If that sequel is anywhere close to this one i expect a hell of a good ride :D

This, btw, means it happens also on other computers than mine, and means that technically the save before the corruption is really already corrupted in that it has this ahem predisposition to getting broken after some events happen.
The more we are digging into this, the stranger it seems :?

Dr.Disaster,

Thank you, happy to see players discover and enjoy the mod. Chaos Strikes Back is indeed an inspiration in my dungeon making style. Especially in my dungeon for dungeon master which went all over the place over 17 levels. Sounds like you did great finding secrets. The lurker vest in the level 6 cell is not one though, I'm thinking you may have missed the conjurer's hat/fire blade? The sequel will be of similar style though bigger and better now that I am learning more tricks. :)

Xanathar,

The editor was still in beta when I made this mod, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Seems unlikely, but then I have no idea what could have happened.

Numberouane,

Big thank you for all your continued support of this mod, and your nomination! :D

Aye, i just found out myself that the Lurker Vest is in the level 6 cell with a second playthru and no, it's not the conjurer's hat/fire blade secret.

I found 5 gold keys and skulls, completed the Valor/Plate/Chitin/Lurker armor sets, found dismantler/icefall hammer/ancient axe, heh i even returned the Tomes of Fire/Ice/Air to the archives since minotaur rogues are soo illiterate ;)

My secret count is 3 on level 6, 5 on level 5, 4 on level 4, 2 on level 3 and 3 on level 2. I can only guess where and what is in that final secret, either an Orb of Radiance since that's the only item from the regular game i have not seen in this mod or Shuriken #8. Also the left-most poison shooter in SE level 4 does not have a receptacle, yet i doubt you'd use the same method of hidding stuff twice ;)

I would say it's obvious. Spiders hate fire.

I am the God of darkness and corruption.

I need help with finding the 4th ornate key. Up to 4 gold keys and 11 secrets.
SpoilerShow
Guessing it is behind the last door that I still have yet to open on level 3 Ascent that I need to get behind. I cannot find where you go to get behind the northwest of the 4 doors.

Your guess is correct. To get there you need to figure out how to get across the 4x4 pit puzzle in the level's center.

I have cleared that one (I call that area the southwest door), the door I cannot get behind is the one north of that door (2 right and 2 up on the map).
