Some minor problems / right mouse button

Post by Roman42 »

Hi All,

I've finished it 2 times and I loved it. Just wanted to note some problems I've encountered:

- killing with poison:
If a monster dies in a Poison cloud, you won't get any XP, no matter how much you've damaged it before.

- headhunter trait:
Skulls count towards your attack power only if carried outside of a container. They don't work in a sack or box.

- trackpad and right mouse button:
Playing on a Trackpad (Mackbook) can be a real pain because of the right mouse button.
Instead of attacking, you'll accidentially remove your weapon. It happened many times to me, especially, when the battle is intense.

Why the right mouse button in the first place? You don't need it. Attacking with the left mouse button would be so much more better. If the player wants to remove his weopons, he can always open the inventory.

Get rid of the right mouse button! Lands of Lore did it, too! :)

I've read, there will be an iOS version someday. You'll have the same problem there. No real right mouse button, so it needs to be removed anyway.

the poison and headhunter issues are in the Windows version too. You can get XP credit with poison cloud, just not poison bolt (the improved version which leaves a cloud)

I'm playing the Windows version (Bootcamp). And yes, it's the improved Poison Bolt which causes the XP problems.

i like the right mouse button. no need to gimp a good thing just because apple doesn't know how to make a proper mouse.

The idea of a menu option sounds like a good compromise to me

Yes a menu option for us retarded Mac users would be great! :)

But as far as I know, there are many modern PC systems out there which have Trackpads, too. My girlfriend has a Samsung laptop, and if she would play this game ("What are you doing there all the time? You're looking at the same wall for 3 days now!"), she would try to play it with her trackpad. She never uses the mouse buttons below her trackpad, because just touching the trackpad is simply nicer than clicking a button down.

But anyway, Macs don't even have these 2 buttons, they have just the trackpad. It's stupid, I know, but this menu option would be wonderful, for all Trackpad and Tablet users.

Agreed, would make playing LoG on a MacBook Pro much, much nicer.

I think the argument...

Could almost be considered valid for users playing via Bootcamp, but if you're developing a version specifically for these machines, you should at least present an option to hone the control scheme for that device.

Hmm, yes, these are long-standing and reported issues. :/

Maybe I annoyed Petri already too much with my bug complaints, so he prefers to ignore me, looks like ;P

Now, you're being silly :) Please don't feel bad if I don't answer every post. I'm trying to at least scan through most of new posts (especially if there are potential bugs) but answering to everybody would simply take too much time and I wouldn't have time to do any real work :)

*sigh* ;) Keep up the good real work Petri (like the fantastic editor), and I will keep up in trying to report bugs! :D
