eww, modern!

I really like some of the other stuff though :) Maybe it can be done differently to not look like vending machine but rather something medieval in some way or another, I dunno

Don't scrap that version, though!
It might have a place in modern/futuristic dungeons.

I imagined the slot was going to be horizontal facing or in such a way that you place the coin into it with the round side. (Having difficulty wording that clearly)

Well, i dont know how an ancient coin slot (there has to be a filigrane mechanism to function) looks. Maybe with some ornaments on it^^

Ah, I like the idea of placing a coin flat into a special recessed spot, especially if the coin has some unique aspects, such as a certain set of holes that align a certain way on the wall, etc
