We'd like to buy 7500 licenses of your game

Post by oculusowner »

Hello, as one of the 7500 supporters of the Oculus Rift dev kit, I would love to purchase a license of your game if you are able to add Rift support. Have you guys got any plans to? Your game looks like a perfect fit for this type of device.

I realize selling an additional 7500 licenses of your title is probably just a drop in the bucket, but these are only the initial run of the dev kits. When the full retail version comes out next year it will surely sell many times this number, and I can't think of a better demo than Grimrock. Bundling a license in with the hardware would be even better.

I just read about Oculus Rift. Sounds like a technology that was promised for the last 15 years, but never delivered.

If you guys manage to somehow pull this off, I'll buy this gear just to play Grimrock.

On a side note John Carmack is working on this stuff, after he completed Rage. This is pretty damn encouraging.

If Almost Human manages to add support for this stuff in Grimrock, I have one short message for you ;)

I've just been buying one or two copies of the game every pay cheque. If 7500 copies is a drop in a bucket, imagine what my 6-7 copies has been :o

Can someone fill me in on what exactly Rift is?

While most head-mounted displays create an illusion of looking at a very large monitor a couple meters away, rift tries to fill your whole field of view (and thus it's possible you're not seeing all the pixels at once, gasp!). That's the prime difference.

Oh, and it's probably also cheaper than most head-mounted displays.

That would be great!
If some of you are interested in knowing more about Occulus Rift and the state of Virtual Reality today, you should watch John Carmack's QuakeCon 2012 keynote :

(it's not only about that though)
(and it's freaking 3 hours and an half)
(but 3 hours and an half of awesomeness)
