The Party of One [warning: latest posts may contain spoiler]

Post by Lex »

I'm just thinking if this will be possible to finish this game with "party" of only one character. Even if game needs four of them at start I could let three of them die and continue with only one. If I've read correctly, experience points are divided only between these party members who hits (am I right?) so dead members should not gain them and alive one should level up faster.

The main possible problem could be max level limit as I do not know if there is such in game... I hope not?

Wouldn't that feat be very difficult? From the reviews I am hearing the dungeon is already pretty tough with 4 people. I imagine with just one it will be all the more harder.

As I said - the main problem will be level up limit (if it exists?).

If experience is not shared then one party member will get it all - it means that he/she will be four times stronger in terms of experience than "average four people party member". That means that he/she will earn more skills points to easier and faster acquire high levels in his/her statistics.

When "average four people party member" will probably be able to max up only a few selected skills during whole game, single hero will have much greater chance to even max them all - that could give him/her decent boost to survive.

From what I have seen in reviews, one member party would not be possible ...
Just watch these reviews and observe. Button "start game" is disabled until you select all four characters...

Aro, I know that - but read what I said - start with 4 but let 3 "fillers" die just at start of game and then continue with only 1. ;)

Look as example at start of this video - all characters dead except one.

I remember reading somewhere that there can be only one person in your group, if all the others die, but the game will be nearly impossible to beat without all four characters, even 3 will be much harder, since you cant revive your teammates. the best bet to finish the game with only 1 person would be to kill them all right before the game, otherwise i doubt you would make it very far.

Here is a quote from game manual: "If health is drained to zero, the character dies but he can be resurrected at certain locations in the dungeon." so your statement is no longer right (if it was before).

Let me quote my own post: "start with 4 but let 3 'fillers' die just at start of game and then continue with only 1".

Sure, but your characters will resurrect whenever you touch blue crystal.
Personally this would be too annoying for me. But if experience is given only to attacking character I suppose you can level up only one character...

Although, possibility to use less than 4 characters would be much better.

As my next question and Aro's later answer could be some spoiler for the others I will use spoiler tag. Aro:
SpoilerShow
Do I need to touch this blue crystal often if at all?

Anyway I can let them die again - and taking into consideration that they "stopped" at level 1 it should be fast death. :D

no they told me it is currently not possible.
I asked couple of weeks ago in the blog, because i played and beat DM and Csb with only character.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster
