[WIP] Forest Tileset sneak peek - UPDATE 10.jan
After releasing The Tomb of Zarthos I started working on my next mod (working title is "The Dark Veil: Crystal's of Luna" )
In some crazy optimism I decided to take everything a step further and not just retexture existing tilesets but make my own tileset models from scratch, and make the game take place outdoors aswell as indoors.
Now after 3 weeks of work I'm begining to see some progress but I'm also realizing that I have dived head first into a tar pit.
I think I have underestimated the work involved making this be 5 light years or so
A lot of the things I wanted to create are not turning out the way I hoped (water for one), but some things came out even better then I had hoped for (stars in the nightsky for example that can be seen in the video)
The basics of the forest tileset are almost done, and I'm now in the process of creating clutter items and props (mushrooms, timberlogs, wells, fances, farms, farmlands etc. etc), but to be realistic I think this mod will be released sometime next year.
Here is a short video of me running through the forest (with night ambients), the boat the party arrives in is a placeholder, and this is ofcourse far from being done.

Skuggasveinn , it looks amazing, you are doing really an impressive job here. I quite merge with your opinion. I don't think LoG is really an outdoor thing. Thats why I don't go outdoor for TLC, but various indoor, with outdoor "references", like "hills", "marshes".
However, I think there might be some GREAT underground tileset to create (caverns, for one, are missing, IMO, but well)...
Anyways, you are doing an amazing stuff, as always.

That looks fantastic.
It has lots of darkness though.
One suggestion I would have is to have a ceiling lamp that shines light in through breaks in the canopy.

This is really nicely done ! Good job !
I'd love if you shared the way you have made the stars in the sky !
I have tried a few particle system configuration for this but i didn't managed to get a nice result like you have done.
The water does look better in the video rather than in the screenshot. IMHO in game that should be fine as it is.
That's definitely conforts me in the idea of making my own open sky tileset !
Keep this up !
