I'm not going to get into a philosophical debate about this, but abadonware is a bit iffy. Please don't post links to any here.

Apart from other legal issues about this kind of thing, the Finnish laws are a bit weird about user-submitted content (including links), so we have to play it safe.

Would it be fair to say you can get most of 'em on Abandonia? :)

Historically speaking, there would never have been an EoB series if it weren't for Dungeon Master. DM is/was the primordial archetype of this particular species of first-person real-time dungeon crawler. But of course, earlier archetypes led directly to DM - in a chain that reaches far backwards into the digital mists...

Being a student on a budget, I can't meet the capital investments to play mainstream games anymore.
Hence, I became intrigue with Grimrock and made my pre-order a few days ago.

Since the game won't be released until the 11th, I was wondering if anyone on the forum could suggest other classic games that is similar or inspired Grimrock to give me a feel of the game style?

Thanks
Dungeon Master
Chaos Strikes Back
Dungeon Master 2

Eye of the Beholder
Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon
Eye of the Beholder III: Assault on Myth Drannor

Black Crypt (Amiga only)

Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny

Might and Magic series

And more... :)
