Well, technically the Screamers in that room do not respawn on their own. There is an invisible trigger in front of the room which makes them respawn. Unless you walk past that spot, they will never respawn.Darklord wrote:How about a room of respawning screamers for food etc?
The same is true for other locations in Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back, where "respawning" monsters are actually triggered by your party revisiting the level, and therefore triggering the respawn yourself.
I think that's a pretty awesome approach to the respawning issue. If you want those monsters in order to grind/train, then have some. If you just want to rest peacefully after having cleared a level, you can have that as well. FTL did so much right with DM and CSB, it's still awe-inspiring to this date.
(BTW, the invisible triggers are marked on the maps which have long since reverse engineered/extracted from the original games.)
