I`m all up or saving at...checkpoints only. Heh, there I said it. Checkpoints.

A big fist-bump on that, Etrian. :)

I was really hoping for this kind of feature in the game, and when Gamespy's review confirmed it I grew even more excited about this game.

I really like checkpoint-based save systems. They can really raise one's tension, trying to frenetically reach one, or breathing a sigh or relief when finding a new one.

So instead of nicely pressing a single button on my keyboard, the minimum amount I have to press is one key plus click THREE TIMES?! And same thing for loading?!

How did you overlook this, basic user ergonomics.

There's autosaves in some places, but it's not like the modern "checkpoint" system which saves before just about anything risky.

I understand there's an autosave any time you use the healing stones, and that's there's one on every level. Am I correct on this?

Freakin' sweet. Yesss.

This may sound trivial to some folk, but I love that kind of save system.

Quick question about the healing stones, can you save multiple times at one stone?

I found the stone, saved my game. Then go explore some more, and want to save at the same stone again for whatever reason (I can't play anymore for the evening, or my wife needs the computer, or just don't want to loose a new item I found)?
Gotta dungeon crawl before you can dungeon walk...
