Dungeon Editor Progress
Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
Hi.
I have LoG on Steam. Where can I find the Dungeon Editor and if in the future it will be added to the next update to your game for free?
Around when?

in your library on steam, left click Legend of Grimrock, select properties, select the betas tab, opt into the beta.

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
Is there a way to Increase the dungeon size? I am attempting to recreate The Bard's Tale. Or at least certain sections, and the map is far too small.
Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
no, it's not possible, sorry. You can explore the idea of teleporting to different levels and faking like it's further on the same level, but if I remember Bard's Tale maps, that may not work great, might be worth a shot

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
Darn... no that basically crushed my dreams again. I wanted to see The Bards Tale in this engine. This was basically the main reason I bought the game...

I too was hoping to make a massive single level as a central hub for the dungeon, but I guess it's a problem with the automap having to be completely changed. Perhaps in expansion game?
Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
How are they too small? IIRC Bar'ds Tale maps were actually 30 cells wide or across (instead of 32).Zacron wrote:Is there a way to Increase the dungeon size? I am attempting to recreate The Bard's Tale. Or at least certain sections, and the map is far too small.
Bard's Tale did wrap the map though (like Eye of the Beholder). There were hallways that seemed to continue past the end of the map, but in actuality, they continued at a point on the opposite side of it.
EoB1 did this too; (on Level 4 ~the spider area). I have a LoG map of level four that works pretty well, so it's possible to do IMO.
The only snag is that in LoG (unlike EoB), the monster AI does not 'see' the path; but there are ways to help it out.
** But Bard's tale did this ~A LOT~, so it would be an endeavor to be sure; and an AI nightmare.

Woah great rendition of EoB level 4 there! Cool!
