Retail release
Retail release
Is there any chance for a retail release? Maybe something like Trine 2 : Collector's Edition with an art book and soundtrack. Some of us still prefer physical releases and it would be really great to have a box with some extra goodies on the shelf.
Re: Retail release
I'd also love to see a retail release, but they tend to be very, VERY costly these days. First, organizing the deals with publishers, then shipping, taxes, and corporations/retailers who take a good chunk off the money, you are left with almost nothing. Virtual sales are just so much cheaper and easier.
I doubt our friends at Almost Human can afford that for their first release, I'm afraid, but here's to hoping that they'll make enough money via virtual copies to afford a nice retail version one day.

Re: Retail release
Maybe they have some close connections with Frozenbyte. They have plenty experience dealing with publishers as I have retail releases of all their games. They managed to produce quite a release for sub 20 EUR price with their last effort Trine 2.

Yes, we need a box!
Re: Retail release
I love the little extras that used to come with dungeon crawler releases like THIS. Some extra stuff, even in digital form if boxes are too expensive would be NIFTY.
Re: Retail release
I would buy both, Digital and a boxed version for my shelf, as im sure a lot of others would also........
Re: Retail release
Minecraft has had a great success just marketing direct by download. Why cast your lot with those evil corporations. they can make you, but in the end, they will destroy you..
Re: Retail release
Maybe we could get a cool render of some box art? Could print it out ourselves for the shelf.

Re: Retail release
Doesn't have the same charm as the real deal, but it could work as a substitute.Shadow wrote:Maybe we could get a cool render of some box art? Could print it out ourselves for the shelf.
Re: Retail release
Yeah, I thought that myself too. Big old box may be a little harder to figure out how to print with a4 printers, but dvd sleeve print could be possible...Shadow wrote:Maybe we could get a cool render of some box art? Could print it out ourselves for the shelf.
