Online mod?
Online mod?
I know it sounds way out there, but what are the possibilities of an online 4-player coop mod/patch, where one person controls each of the four heroes throughout the journey? How awesome would it be to work your way through a dungeon with three other LoG fans, and fight monsters together? Realistic possibility or wishful thinking?
If this is out of the question, how about an online patch that would allows us to spectate other people playing LoG? Similar to how it works in the Call of Duty games, where you enter the actual game, and just click on the player to follow his/her actions. I love spectating people play games so this would be pretty cool IMO

Re: Online mod?
I would say it's possible with some official support. I heard this was talked about on the steam forum and developers were saying something about needing player models and a bunch of additional stuff. I think the community can help out in that regard once they finish up the SDK. We also need a server... or even a peer to peer client like tunngle to setup a connection hub for MP.

Whoah....didn't know that! Can you provide a link to that thread on the Steam forum?Javokis wrote:I would say it's possible with some official support. Who wins if one of you tries to go left, another right, another forward and the last one back?
Or how about switching your wizard friend to the front in the middle of a fight?

Re: Online mod?
Making a game online capable that isn't is a lot more work than you'd think (unless you actually know this, of course).
However, LoG would be a much easier game among others (ex. first-person RPG) to do this.
EDIT: I exaggerated a bit there. I meant to mean something else, but I am too lazy to clear it up, ::

Re: Online mod?
Not really,
In addition to the regular requirements for going multiplayer, for LoG you also need:
- Visualization of the other parties.
- Dungeons specifically designed for more than one party.

Re: Online mod?
Multiplayer is not even remotely possible without rewriting lots of code. Multiplayer is not something you can easily slap into an existing game.

System Shock 2 prove it. The game contains fans made the co-op. Amazing work.petri wrote:Multiplayer is not even remotely possible without rewriting lots of code. Multiplayer is not something you can easily slap into an existing game.
