There you, go split for you.
I'd be interested to see EOB with the Grimrock engine to, would be awesome if we could get some actual D&D enemies in it, Kobolds and such.

EOB Custom Levels

Re: EOB Custom Levels
That would be quite a lot of work to get it even close.
There's 2 unique mobs on each level, except level 4 and 5, which have 2 unique mobs together. That's 22 models that would have to be created. Perhaps a few of the EoB monsters could use LoG models, like the wizard on level 6 could use Cthulhu model, but those are few and far between. For consistency, they might as well all be replaced.
EoB also uses 5 different wallsets, and while LoG 1-4 would befit EoB 10-11 quite nicely, the other wallsets aren't anywhere similar.
Then there's the stuff about classes and abilities. EoB is designed around having at least one healer. It also provides access to lock-picking, and has a much wider variety of spells. It also has room for 6 characters. We'd have to be quite lenient on this side, so it would be the EoB dungeon in LoG style, rather than true EoB.
It'd be a lot of work and you'd end up with something that wouldn't truly be EoB. I'd play it if someone would make it, but I'd rather make something new in the spirit of, than try to remake EoB.

I'm sure you are right, still it would be a fun challenge!

Re: Dungeon Editor Progress
Hes talking about the secret area on level 1 where you find the dagger... also someone in your party points out it "'smells funky down there"... While reading this thread I notice this has been answered.. oh wellThels wrote:It did? I don't recall that at all. But then, it's been well over a year since I last played.Isaac wrote:It was interesting that level 1 had an open pit leading up... but that doesn't affect the game in the least.
I remember wanting to peer upwards through the pit; wishing the party could climb up (out).
Though perhaps we should have the EoB talk split off to it's own thread? Because this could be somewhat annoying to those that are waiting for the editor, and don't care about good old EoB1.

Thels wrote:Other than levels 1 and 12, EoB really packed the levels tight, using every square on the 32x32 grids.
Lvl 10 was sort of smaller as well

PLEASE!!! Recreate EoB on LoG engine!!! PLEASE! Very soon we've awesome editor! PLEASE! Recreate EoB! And if you know where is the links on team who's working on this remake?
Re: EOB Custom Levels
I think it was a gnome that let you read the rune at the end of the hall? If we could get a serious team to work together on the levels I would be down..I already messed with the first level, but it really wasn't much of a challenge. Some of the later ones would prove a challenge though.
Also, I beat both the PC and the SNES one and I think they filled up the last level on the SNES one a bit. The snes one had some rad music on it..hehe.

If somebody needs maps of EoB for recreation, I've uploaded maps to THIS link in .pdf and .GIF with help.

It seems there's a new thread about this mod/remake: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3350.
