Synchronized Movement Explained *spoilers*
This is how I rationalize four people being able to rotate, strafe, (and fall down pits), with such cohesion.
You never actually see your own party, so who knows?

Their final trial is at hand. Numerous prisoners have received their pardons here yet none have returned to live their life in freedom. They are at the very top of the world, and below them only darkness and justice, and an RMP 400 Omni, awaits.

Hahah, that's awesome.
The official story is, of course, that the prisoners are chained together but I think I actually prefer this interpretation more.
