Best way, I found, was to lure one slime at a time to the door and abuse the door trick. Slimes attack really damn fast, though, so you're likely to take some damage doing it. Bring torches, healing potions, and food. I found that if you nap before killing a slime they tend to wander off and it can take them a while to get back to the door. Once you kill about half of them, it becomes considerably easier and you can just play tag at a corner.
Didn't have enough earth magic for the poison shield so I don't know if it'd affect their damage or not. Disease wears off over time, best way to get rid of it is to just sleep it off.
Slimes didn't appear to take significantly more damage from shock than from anything else, but a frost bomb froze one solid for several seconds. Frost arrows did not freeze them.
Rewards weren't worth it, IMO, since my rogue is daggers and assassination and has nothing into missile weapons, but it's nice to be able to say I finished it.
