Help - locked out of checkered room!

Thanks all - I got it through - by placing an item through the gate.

Wasn't there like, 3-4 puzzles before this room that has you do that? XD You must remember all the tricks the game has taught you, if you want all the secrets!

As far as I remember shooting throw cell-doors stop the shot like a solid door. I will try it, though, the next time I play the game ...

i just realized, that there is probably a way to lock yourself out.
when you just left the room (with open door), and throw something in the room, it might land on the wrong tile.
when this happens, you don't have the chance to get back. but i requires active failing, so you might remember it.

I don't think you can throw something through an already closing door.

Edit: Ignore that, it doesn't actually need to be closing. This indeed works to lock yourself out permanently.
