I just have a new one this morning, complete freezing (in the select character pannel), hard reboot then ! (t° was about 65°C - around normal ranges)
@Jirodyne: no winXP compatibility mode in the exe, only 95-98-2000 and NT (the game is installed via Steam) - Resolution is set for 1280*1024 native for 19"
Hi drex66, this is/was a known issue, had it myself with 1.1.3.
to fix it, you have to change the resolution manually ... until you found a working one which is supported by your TFT.
I think windowed mode is a good idea to try, too.
Close Grimrock and open with Notepad (or your prefered editor),
My Documents\Almost Human\Legend of Grimrock\grimrock.cfg
Replace
resolution = SOMETHING with
resolution = "1024 x 768" (or another supported resolution).
Save the
grimrock.cfg, close the editor, start Grimrock.
If you have still problems try this parameters, too
displayMode = 2 (1 = fullscreen, 2 = windowed mode)
verticalSync = 2 (1 = VSYNC off, 2 = VSYNC on, 3 = triple buffer)
good luck and keep us informed if something fixed your problem!
[Edit]
After re-reading your posts, maybe I misinterpreted you. After some time working the screen wents black? If yes, I would also strongly assume it's a over-heating problem, try setting
maxFrameRate = 30 in the
grimrock.cfg or consider even downclocking by the ATI tray tools.
