One of the biggest complaints about this game is the casting of magic. My suggestion for remedying this is to give mages an additional item / inventory submenu: their spellbook. As the mage learns new spells (either by experimentation or finding a scroll), an icon for the spell is added to the spellbook inventory submenu. That way, instead of opening up a menu and then clicking on 1-4 runes, and finally clicking on the "cast" icon in order to cast a spell, the mage could just "equip" the icon for the spell they want to cast, and right-click it in order to cast (just like every other class/item in the game works).
Dunno how difficult this would be to implement into the game, but at the very least I would hope that you consider it for any future sequels / similar games.
Other than that, love the game. Only other thing I would like to see is more monster variety. Grimrock 2 needs MORE MONSTERS!
Suggestion: Spellbook Inventory
Re: Suggestion: Spellbook Inventory
that is a good idea but to be honest it takes the mages role of casting runes out , in other words the game would be to easy.
Re: Suggestion: Spellbook Inventory
it's nice to have the mage casting when he wants to. it's like searching his spell in his book, and it's an absolute pleasure to make a spell like fireball, waiting for a monster, and see a uggardian! bam! no chance! magic is magic, it couldnt be easy as fighting with an axe!
