<SPOILERS>Praise one thing in the game
The rule of this thread is to home in on one specific detail in the game you'd like to praise. I'll go first.
The one thing I'm going to praise is moving forward. Why does moving forward in Legend of Grimrock deserve praise? Because there's just something really satisfying about the slick motion and accompanying footstep sound that occurs when you press the forward key.

I absolutely love auto-pickup feature of thrown rocks, knives, axes!

You have hands. You have to manipulate objects in the game by pickiug them up and using them in your hands. And even spells require you to use your hands. No abstraction like selecting items in a menu. And no wimping out with a quick slot for a spell - you want to cast magic, you have to use your hands.

The dungeon design: So many great puzzles and set-pieces. It's great to have that sense of exploration and discovery, and they still came up with a whole bunch of cool new ideas too!

Blueberry Pie!

Daniel.
A gently fried snail slice is absolutely delicious with a pat of butter...

The puzzle balance. They are just hard enough to border on frustration, making the reward for solving them all the greater.
This can not be repeated enough, balancing puzzles is hard. If you created them you know the answer and you are the worst judge if it is obvious or impossible. An extra tip of my hat to the game testers for this as well.

The thrilling atmosphere ... *snip* The mosaic *snip* of things end up in the sophisticated and awe-inspiring atmosphere of this game.

At the end of my first time with "the Legend of Grimrock" - played on default-party, hard, old-school mode:
