pick up

Post by rsknapp »

This is probably the dumbest question ever. How do I pick something up? clicking on it with the mouse does nothing. Is there a key? or what? Thanks.

You should be able to pick stuff up using the mouse. If you can't pick something up, are you sure you're clicking on something that can actually be picked up? What are you trying to pick up?

The object has to be close enough; left-click the object to grab it. Your party can reach whatever is on their tile plus whatever is on the "near edge" of adjoining tiles. (I'm not sure about diagonals but I think you can only reach what is on the "near corner" of diagonal tile.) To dump it in your inventory used the hotkeys (1-4) to open a backpack, or just drop the item on a character's portrait. EDIT: Also if a monster is on the tile, you can't pick up anything that tile.

That's actually not required. You can click an item to pick it up, and then click it again to drop it in your hand/inventory/on the ground.
