Mod Team Theta - Official Thread
Re: Mod Team Theta - Official Thread
Past experience has taught me not to commit to anything too early but if I release any weapons I'll be sure to contact you somehow to see if you'd like to include them in your pack or not. I don't know, I'll see how I go once the editor is out. Custom armour etc shouldn't be too hard either, might even give a custom tileset a go sometime too. But we'll see.

Alright, that sounds great. Looking forward to seeing what you make.Bek wrote:Past experience has taught me not to commit to anything too early but if I release any weapons I'll be sure to contact you somehow to see if you'd like to include them in your pack or not. Re: Mod Team Theta - Official Thread
Hiya!
For these kinds of things I always prefer working with a team than alone. Especially when my severely lacking programming skills withold me from contributing anything constructive.
And seeing as you've got plenty of programmers...and designers (there can be too many of those sometimes though, so it's good to have at least one point all faces in the same direction), but in need of artists, I thought I'd pop in and say hi.
I have a relatively broad skillset and I'm able to adapt styles different to my own (I could do a style study of the game to make everything fit with the existing content if necessary). Because of my basic knowledge in programming, I know what to deliver what they need and know how to tell them what I need (and feed them on a regular basis, j/k ).
I can do:
-general concept work (colour design, character design, environment design)
-make ortho's (modelling sheets) for 3d artists
-3d modelling (but not very fast, though very neatly and true to concept)
-final polishing on 3d models(edgeloop optimization, quadification (for the detail sculpting), poly-decreasization ),
-UV-unwrapping (it's like puzzling! )
-texturing (Zbrush/Mudbox/Photoshop, detail sculpting, baking, painting).
-workflow optimization; asset organization
-assisting game design/testing and storywriting
But not all at once.
No rigging/skinning and animation sadly, though I know and understand the principles of animation and know when an animation or rig doesn't work and how to fix it, I lack the technical knowledge of actually doing that (though I'm planning to work on that!).
I love monsters, I love plants (herbs, trees), I love architecture. And I love this game. It could have more of those things though, way more.
A few examples of my work (I don't have a lot available yet, sadly my scanner's dead, but just to give you an idea):

edit: Btw, is this Theta in upper, or lower case? (Θ or θ) (because I could start making a banner/logo)

Interesting, I'd like to join. You can never have too many (professional) designers
I have a few prepared maps I'm eager to create as well as an entirely new plot to integrate as soon as the developer kit comes out. LoG has quickly become one of my favorite games. I see myself getting very intimate with the modding software. Depending on how much is going to be accessible, I hope to create a very popular map. It'd be great to help contribute to other people's ideas though, whether by helping design, critiquing, or giving the feedback you'd need on how your mod, story, or ideas come along. I'm a very quick prototyper so if you need anything tested immediately I could simulate something in a few reliable formats.
Let me know if I can help in any way or if you need additional information from me; I'm always happy to help eager developers achieve their goals
~Carrow.
Whoops! Forgot to mention I have a pretty wide reach of eager individuals who are in the game industry whom also may help should you need it. I knew a few sound designers and artists that share the same enthusiasm as myself!

Hey Carrow and rdub, sorry it's been awhile since you posted. We've all been pretty busy with life.
Right now we're only actively looking for the positions posted on the first page. If we need additional people, we'll update the post. So keep an eye out.

Do you need Animators or 3D modelers or both?Patch wrote:Hey Carrow and rdub, sorry it's been awhile since you posted. We've all been pretty busy with life.

I have some potential traits that might be appealing:
3D CG artist for 13 years
DnD GM and custom dungeon/module writer since 1979
When the editor comes out I'm hoping to convert a few dungeons to Grimrock format, but my real passion woud be to make new decorations for the dungeons and new monsters.
If you're interested you can take a look at my site:

Thanks!

What fantastic things I saw here , here is the lair of artists and designers.
I am looking for some 3D and 2D designer for my intro and some of my game 2D graphics , but I don't have much money and I create everything alone. (Only things that are possible to be made).
I have little knowledge of 3D Studio , but not in depth to make very nice monsters or some nice intro.
Who among of you , is very nice 2D designer , I am interesting about some 2D graphics send me a PM.
And if anyone of you is interesting to create my Eye of the Beholder IV introduction or create any graphics send me a PM . Or if anyone of you , is interesting to create and complete my project send me a PM too , or to use my Eye of the Beholder IV engine to create another Dungeon Crawler game.
Or any of you are programmers send me PM if you are interesting (I am programming with Purebasic , DarkGDK and Blitzmax).
Thank you.

I want to do moddings for LoG. And thats much easier and is more fun with more people participating. I am able of doing some coding and am a pool of ideas. That's what i can give you, my opinion, coding and ideas. So how can i participate?
