I'm pretty sure difficulty level does increase (or decrease) food consumption. My hard party goes through substantially more food, too much for me to believe is caused by replacing the low-food-consumption insectoid in my normal party with a human.Thels wrote:UglyBastard wrote:I'm not 100% sure if the difficulty level has an influence on food consumption. I hadn't thought of that. If it does, then surely it doesn't need fixing. You can always get through with the crystals if need be. I did practically entire level 12 and 13 with my entire party starving, saving the bit of food I had left for the endboss (and ended up with an overfed party and food to spare).

Re: food consumption
Human Fighter: Armor 16 Swords 4x somewhere near max
Mino Fighter: Armor 16 Axes Rest
Rogue: Missile Weapons only (maxed)
Mage: Ice Magic until enhanced Frostbolt, ~15 spare points I didn't spend

Well, then you should have no problem whatsoever on Easy or Normal. On Hard you might have problems if you focus on survivability over damage, but even then it shouldn't be too hard.rakenan wrote:I'm pretty sure difficulty level does increase (or decrease) food consumption. I think most people went Normal first, and then Hard on the 2nd run, and figured by then that only damage is really important, in which case you kill everything fast enough for food not to be an issue.
If you go hard the first run in, and focus on armor, the game's a little different and food consumption is an issue, but still, not a major issue.
So if you still have food issues:
- Don't play on Hard, OR
- Focus on damage output, OR
- Deal with it by means of crystals.
Re: food consumption
Hmm.
It seems that Ice Lizards in lvl 9 are endless foodsource in Hard mode, because they respawn.
I used this resurect stone to get full mana + healt where I can use it and recommended to others also to use it.
Edit (OT)
Is there how many areas where mobs respawn?
I have found 2 areas between levels 1-9.

Re: food consumption
I thought so too, but their respawn rate is too slow to make them adequately useful.Limba wrote:Hmm.

Re: food consumption
There are several areas where mobs respawn. The skeletons on level 4. The skeletons on level 6. The snails on level 6. Etc...Limba wrote:Edit (OT)

Re: food consumption
on my first run on hard i never used 1 potion and never went back to a crystal,so if i was poisoned or injured i slept.starting level 6 i had 40 items of food in my inventory after that food was everywhere,
Re: food consumption
I also don't get how anyone can have food issues in LoG. I've finished game twice and always I've ended with like a five boxes and several sacks stuffed with food.Thels wrote:Out of curiosity, mind if I ask you for your builds, especially early on?rakenan wrote:Sometimes I wish I could see what people are doing that run out of food. There has to be something, but I can't figure out what. Most of the other things people complain about, I have I think a pretty good idea of why they are having trouble. Food concerns are the one that is a complete mystery to me.
The same for anyone else who had a food problem, or not at all. And don't forget to include your difficulty level. I wonder if specs have anything to do with it.
Both plays were on normal difficulty and with magic atlas... I mean automap
No extensive farming for food at re-spawning Snails or Ice Lizards.

Re: food consumption
there must be 2 versions of this game or something,on the 1st level there is something like 20 pieces of food this should last almost the entire game,i just dont get it.
Re: food consumption
To those that can't understand food problems, try replaying on hard while building your team around survivability, rather than damage output.
