food consumption
turn down consumption of food !!!! I'm at level 4 of the maps and I have no more food, I can not do anything because the chars are dying of hunger. make a patch and add a magic to create the food as we did with old dungeon master.
if you add the magic to heal would be useful, the potions are too slow to use, in the time you open your inventory click them to use. the monsters have killed you.
make a patch so we do not have to change anything or cheat.
The patch may be used by anyone, even if he does not understand anything about informatics.

Re: food consumption
Strange, I always had so much food all my characters were stuffed to max weight with 10+ pieces of it

Re: food consumption
When characters are hungry they won't regain health and energy by resting, but they can still reach a blue crystal to replentish those. It's a bit more work, but it's doable.am shaegar wrote:turn down consumption of food !!!! It helps to plan ahead and make the potions when you have a quiet moment instead of the middle of combat. Though I have also done the latter on several occations.am shaegar wrote:if you add the magic to heal would be useful, the potions are too slow to use, in the time you open your inventory click them to use. the monsters have killed you.
You know you're screwed when the light at the end of the hallway is an onrushing ogre wielding a torch.
Re: food consumption
They aren't or can't die from hunger. It's gonna be hard but look thru Darklord's post same thing happened to him and he survived. You may need to play a little to see how level is then reload and limit number of steps to accomplish goal. There is a little bit on level 5 but an introduction of a harder hitting monster also but the level is relatively short then endless supply of food in Lv6.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: food consumption
die of hunger is a manner of speaking.
when characters are hungry, do not rest and think they are more weak, healing potions are useless because there are a few herbs, the magic you do not heal and does not create food, I can not do everything a level using the blue crystals. I hope you realize that the thing is absurd.
I started on level 4 now, how do you think can to arrive at 5 ° or 6 ° without food or rest?
However, I will look for a trainer and I will use the cheat, at least I can continue to play
sorry for the useless post, but I hoped it would be a good idea to add the magic to heal and to create the food, as there were in the dungeon master and other similar games.

Re: food consumption
heh nice.
And I was asking for hard mode that when you run out of food you start to get damage
(Reported as bug)
Edit:
First time totally run out of food when I was lvl 7 or 8. There I used run to resurrect stone mothod.
Note: I play Hard + Old school (take time to draw maps -> more food consumption)

Re: food consumption
How did you possibly run out of food? This seems to be a common problem people are having, but I cannot imagine how it happens since even on hard, old school I never ran out of food. During my second playthrough I ended the game with about 3 characters worth of food.

Re: food consumption
There is a reason why herbs are in a limited supply. They are intended for emergencies. The matter of healing and food from spells has been adressed in several threads, but it's not something that's fixed with a snap of the fingers. Healing from spells would be a nice addition, but personally I'm not so sure about magic to create food.am shaegar wrote:die of hunger is a manner of speaking.

Doing everything on a level using only the blue crystals takes more work, but it's possible to do. If you find it too hard, then perhaps you should load an earlier savegame or start anew.
I know it sounds boring, but at least you now will know the game a little better from the start and (hopefully) manage the food consumtion a little better.
What's absurd is what people manage to complain and whine about.

Re: food consumption
You are on lv 4 use the crystal on lv 3 when you get to lv 5 use the one on lv 4 til you get to the one on lv 5 it's in a central location.
If the reason you have ran out is because you are resting after every battle due to damage or Mage energy regen that's what the crystal will do for you.
And if you are taking that much damage try kiting enemies instead of standing toe to toe if you are doing so. Also try luring enemy to a door and using door exploit were can it will help.

Re: food consumption
Food is mostly spent by performing actions, and not nearly as much by resting or sitting still. Having my characters rest to regain 200 hp takes less than 5% off my food bar.
Thus it relies somewhat on how you deal with combat, and how your party is built. If you have four characters all focused on damage, you will need to make less swings to kill mobs than when you focused on protection, having to attack a bunch more times to kill the mobs, and consuming a lot more food in the process.
I played with going 5 Athletics, 16 Armors on both my Fighters before going to 33 Swords/30 Unarmed, and my mage was mostly throwing daggers and shurikens, and only casting spells when I was in a pinch. I had food problems at the very end of level 4 as well (though I had surplus food at the end of level 5 somehow).
And as said, your characters can't die from starvation. They have their AP halved (which makes some fights really hard), and don't regain health/energy, so you need to constantly revisit the crystal. I didn't have to do that at all during level 5, even though I started the level without food.
