Darklord wrote:What allowed me to find it was the developer console, once enabled you can open up a funky developer map which tells you every item on the level and shows it's location. I certainly learnt a few things about LoG in this process anyhow! :P
That is great! Do you mind sharing how you were able to do this? I am sure there will be many people in the future who lose quest items like I did and need to find it before being able to move forward.

PS: I just saw on my post timestamps that it looked like I just searched for 5 minutes. I actually spent over an hour scanning through all of the levels and placing a note on every single square that I checked :P I just kept on editing my post and hence the timestamp wasn't adjusted.

Now I need to figure out how I missed it :D

Sure it's somewhat complex though. :)

First enable the console, this thread explains how to do it.

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1982

Then enable the developer commands,

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1630&p=16085#p15791

From here there's a host of special key commands (in the previous thread) The one I used for this was F11, this brings up the developers map as shown in this thread,

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2277

Once you have it up, you get a list of every item on the level, plus a little dot to show where each one is, you still have to highlight them to figure out which dot it is though. I'd previously tried the L command, which gives you every item on the level and all the XP and teleports you to the next level this wasn't ideal though as you couldn't go back. Whatever you do stay away from the m command...

Disclaimers, this is somewhat complex, and you can wreck all sorts of things, so try at your own risk!

Happy to help! :)

If you aren't sure if you may need something in future, keep it anyhow. ;)

Yeah I definitely will, paranoid mode now! I really didn't think I would need the item that I threw away :D

Don't mention it :)

Here's some really helpful advice concerning stuff you don't need or you think you don't need:
 Always dump that stuff at a stairway leading to the next/previous level.

Saves you a lot of time :)
