Wizardry 8 is a true classic. I think it is best appreciated by those who first played Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant, which finished with one of the all time greatest cliffhangers in a cRPG.
The sequel was 10 years in the making, and you could still import your party of characters, if you had the foresight to save them to a disk.

Huh, I totally have the CDs for that around here somewhere, I should give it a look. I played the heck out of Wizardry 6 on the Amiga, then got a cliffhanger and never ended up with a working way to play Wizardry 7.
