The proportions look decent to me and the poses seem natural enough. It seems like you could sketch it out a bit more before adding those final dark lines. I can't really tell what the mage's hand is doing that is lower down. If you want to make it look great you'll have to keep working on this drawing for a few more hours. Keep it up!

Are you planning to add colors?

Thanks, I'm not sure to color this one, it is my first about this 2 characters.

For the portrait of Rila I would try this one :

I tried this for Orkae the other fighter (human) of the group.

I'm not totaly new for coloring but I'm not happy with what I can produce :

That looks like "cartoon" and I don't know how to do better ...

I work with inkscape now (I stop using gimp and photoshop when I discovered the vectorial graphics :D ) but I would like to do something different for the portraits ...

Very cool! Very comic book-ish.

That looks pretty cool as it is - I bet you could improve it a lot if you keep working on it!

In my thread Radar posted a useful link about painting on the computer, check it out: http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/art_tut.htm

Thanks a lot :)

I had a look on your thread and see the link, at first sight is seems complex (for me at least) ...

For this portrait of rila I worked on a big picture (size of the black and white sketch) I reduced after to fit the portrait , is it a good way ? because for the details that seems not very good ...

Must I work after on the portrait itself to adjust details ?

So,

I used a part of my first Drawing of rila and I decided to work differently,
I tried to remember my old method on photoshop, but it was so long time ago ... And I had only Gimp (good but a bit different and I leaved bitmap art for vector graphics).

I did this

It was long :( and it is not perfect but I think the colors and design fits a bit more to the game than the first I tried.

Cool cartoony style, and you seem to have a good handle on vectoring. I think a good way to think about Gimp and photoshop is to think in terms of vectors and shapes first. Placing down solid, hard edges colors first will be a familiar way to work with and a good way to build up a foundation. Then blend where necessary to round out forms and shapes (even simple cartoony, shapes! Those knockers are very round ;) )

If you're looking to do some more realistic work, I would suggest getting some kind of reference for the faces and the pose.

Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Thanks radar for your comments and advices.

I worked a bit differently for this one : All black line and basic color were done on inkscape then I switched to gimp and made layers for each part of the shadowing .... I mainly work with the "finger" tool to do that shadows but is it a good way to do ...

Inkscape version Image first shot on gimp Image after a long time shadowing on gimp Image A liitle better I hope ?

During my wandering in grimrock dungeon's I did this, "The back row attack" of Yewyn the young rogue :)
