CPU a bit too slow to pass timed puzzle in old tunnels

Post by tanelorn »

I'm at the point where I must hit the button on the wall and backbedal through the teleporter that is temporarily disabled. I've tried and tried as fast as I can (not wasting time to turn around). I've got my graphics all set to low and resolution to low, and the timer is still too short for me to make it. This is a dead end for me. I can't continue in the game and I've just started!!!

Any possible solutions?

Shoot me a save file and I will jump through for you, save and then resend it back.

Wow that's very nice of you. Let me try one other thing, I will install the game on a friend's computer and try what you are suggesting. I only have a laptop as I live off the grid. If that fails, I'll PM you. Thanks for the offer!

Try taking off the torches on the nearby walls if you can. I'm finding they do cause quite a bit of lag and the FPS improves if I am the only light source in the area.

I doubt it has anything to do with your CPU. Make sure none of your characters are encumbered.

Oh really, party movement speed is determined by encumbrance? If that's true it's good to know!!

You can also start moving while the button is being pressed, try to do both at the same time rather than click THEN move.

Yah tried that. Hit the button while backbedaling. It's definitely a framerate limitation. I hate to think how many other puzzles I won't be able to do...

What are your specs? Playing any modern game on a laptop seems a bit silly to me. They are seriously limited when it come to gaming (unless its a gaming laptop).

Well this ain't Modern Warfare 3... I figured I could play it. And I can, until I hit a timed puzzle.
