Can someone write a sticky patching FAQ? I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to dealing with games online, and there are hundreds of posts about patch 1.1.4 that don't tell me much.
I bought the game directly from this site, but there's no patch here, and I don't quite follow what I need to do on this STEAM or GOG thing. Is it not available for folks who bought it here?
A quick list of how to patch based on where you bought the game would be super helpful to us non techie folks.
Sincerely,
P
Patching FAQ
Re: Patching FAQ
If you have Steam version installed you pretty much need to do nothing. Steam will automatically patch the game for you unless you specifically set Steam not to do that.
Re: Patching FAQ
I second this as I don't want to mess up and lose my saves. This is the first PC game I've played in a really long time, more of a console guy but COULD NOT pass this game up.
If I did I would probably not play again for a long time.
I have the GOG stand-alone and would like a step by step to install patch.

The FORCE is with me!!!
Re: Patching FAQ
GOG stated in the forums that they don't host a patch, they host a fully patched full version you will have to redownload. Uninstall, and reinstall save games are safe. If you want to be extra careful, just back up the savegame folder before you do.

Looks like that's why I had an issue with the dxd9_43.dll on reinstall. I chalked it up to it being because I am running in wine. Anyway, that thread should help you out.

Just to close this thread if anyone comes to it: I finally found the answer... in many, many places, I just wasn't searching for the right terms.
If you purchased from the Grimrock website, just open up your confirmation email from "Humble Store" (I forgot that's what it was called), and re-download from the same link. You will automatically d-load the patched version.
Couldn't be simpler.
