GrimRock Preorder

Post by Keith Weisshar »

I preordered GrimRock directly from the website via paypal. I got my steam key and activated it and it shows up as pre-order in the library and is locked. I noticed that in the Steam key page url there is a link that says delete key page on the lower right hand corner of the page. If I click this option will I lose the ability to download the standalone version?

Yes, clicking delete page removes access to the page, and consequently to the standalone installer which will be available on the 11th.

If anyone happens to click on the delete link by accident, just drop us a line so we can revert it. :)

Why is there a delete key page on the lower right hand corner of the page? Is it safe to use it once the key has been registered to the Steam account? Also will there be Steam Cloud saving in the Steam version of the game?

Yes, you can delete the page if you wish after claiming your Steam key IF you have no need for the standalone installer that's going to be added on the same page on April 11th. The delete link's purpose is just to remove the page off the Internet and it's up to you to decide if you feel that it's necessary. If you ask me, there's no harm in leaving the page be for accessing it later.

Steam Cloud saves have not been implemented to the game, at least for now. Your save game files can be easily accessed in your Documents folder in Windows if you want to make a backup.

Is there any reason to delete the page, ever? Why is the option there?

I deleted the unique key page after claiming the Steam Key on Steam because I have no need for the standalone installer and will be using the Steam version to get Steam Achievements. Why isn't the pre-order goodies bonus pack on Steam in the Tools section of the Library? Do you plan to add that to Steam?

Not really, I prefer the standalone version. I am not so into achievements and stuff...

Steam doesn't support preorder random files (as far as I know, anyway). When the game does get released, you can find the extras at:

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\legend of grimrock\extras\
(or wherever your steam is installed, anyway)
