:D

On another note did anyone play fire mage and how did the +STR work out for you? Sounded stupid to me when I saw it. That's actually why I went with Ice (+WIL made more sense). But maybe you could make lemonade in some way I didn't think of.

On my Toorum play I am putting points into fire. Oddly fire ends up be a nice hybrid line. The +STR makes it so the points bumping fire have a side benefit in Melee combat.

Other then that I can not understand why fire has +STR for a mage as it ends up being a under used stat by them normally.
It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
My end game stats LoG 1st play through

It appear that each class got 4 specialisations (ex: fire / frost / lightning / earth for a mage) and each spec add points in a player capacity.
For fire this is strengh.
IMHO this is a limitation of the skill system, but modifying this means redo everything.

Edit: In fact no, that doesn't mean redo everything.

Let's me explain: when you put skill points in Fire (for the example) instead of add 1 point in strengh, why does it not put 1 point in a counter that you can use for what capacity you want (strengh, dexterity,....)? sound a good idea to me, and easy to put in place.

That would avoid such weird situation like add dexterity for an archer when you don't need it at all (arrows hit always) and it would allow real build customisation for each class.

The manual sez:
manual wrote:FIRE. The first rune is fire, one of the elements. Elements are a major group in the runes. There are four elements and all of them reside in the corners of the pattern. Fire magic is very suitable for destructive powers and fire is the rune of strength.
there you have it guys... now whether it makes sense for a mage to have strength increased or not...

I just play my characters, i dont really like number crunching and micromanaging my game, i just play what feels natural.

Wish I could do that, like when you were a kid you didn't care about statistics and balance and stuff you just played anyway that seemed cool. Alas I grew up.

Personally I always preferred the spell system from Bloodwych I dont see the point of having scrolls to remember spells why not just have a spellbook and as you level up you read the scrolls into you book and are able to cast them no more forgetting spells or hitting the wrong rune mid combat!
